watching crypto now has to be like watching stocks in the 1800's, robber barons pumping and dumping for profit (Mlon Eusk), flash crashes due to panics. It's almost like crypto bros should read books or something.

Evergreen tweet. In light of today's SEC fines against a prominent social influencer. If you don't know who the mark is, you are the mark.

At least once a month, I randomly remember that Dr Phil once invited the creator of the BumFights video series on his show to confront him about exploiting vulnerable people for financial gain—only for him to show up dressed up as Dr Phil & point out he does the same exact thing.

How do people successfully manage Electron apps? Every time I've managed to migrate to the new latest version's breaking changes, they just release more breaking changes. This is insanity.
A reminder that Biden campaigned on canceling ALL federal student debt for borrowers who attended any public college or HBCU.

Algorithms overriding explicit user preferences is destroying personal autonomy on the internet in such insidious ways. You can see how bad it is on your @Twitter timeline, what percentage is of stuff you never actually signed up for?

Sick of people calling everything in crypto a Ponzi scheme. Some crypto projects are pump and dump schemes, while others are pyramid schemes. Others are just standard issue fraud. Others are just middlemen skimming of the top. Stop glossing over the diversity in the industry.

do yourself a favor and never choose jest as your test runner, you'll probably end up spending more time debugging what your test runner is doing than what the code you're actually testing is doing.
In a world where configuration takes longer to learn than coding up a solution yourself guess what happens? :glances at javascript tooling ecosystem:

Metaverse stuff really pisses me off because I was told my entire life that it is “wrong to live in a fantasy world” and that my hobbies and interests were “unhealthy escapism” but as it turns out all they were really mad about was that my imagination wasn’t properly monetized

In any kind of sane world, "the only thing that keeps the financial system from dying in a gigantic fraud fire is people doing manual checks of random pieces of code in their spare time" would be a completely disqualifying architectural flaw.
A few hours ago, a promising token called $YEAR was airdropped. It was set up as a "year in review" of your Ethereum transaction history. Less than an hour ago, this turned into a painful experience for buyers of the token. Here's how $YEAR pulled the rug in under 6 hours🧵 1/

My family have all reported in, but I cannot stop the words climate disaster from flashing behind my eyelids. They are saying it’s the longest tornado touch down in KY history. 227 miles. People who have lived with tornadoes know how bonkers that is. kentucky.com/news/state/kent…

When your european coworkers are sharing their internet connection stats and you realize how far behind the US is on infrastructure. There is some dude living in a Finnish forest with a better gaming connection than you.
