video editing, the gift that keeps on giving, bro said "thanks for the quote, does 3x less work for you?"

This is actually a very good point for video a/b testing, there’s so many memorable moments I can remember sharing with friends from videos. But with a/b testing will we all be watching the same videos? Will be interesting to see how people use it
as a viewer i find this so lame. it’s indicative of a lack of confidence in your work, and creates a distrust that i’m even watching the same video as everyone else. AB testing the packaging is so different than AB testing the actual product. just make a decision damn

inb4 every YouTuber now asks for 3 different cuts of every video 3x the paycheque or just 3x the work? I think we all know which one lmao
VIDEO A/B TESTING IS COMING TO YOUTUBE You can upload 3 versions of the SAME video Different hooks, different pacing, whatever you wanna test and YouTube tells you which one kept people hooked the longest so you can make it the main one For Shorts and Long Form!

To any editors that follow me, the last part has never been more true: “Being competent/acting like a real human automatically puts you in the top 1%”
If you are an editor and not making minimum $10K/month right now it's probably a skill issue You guys are a MUCH needed resource right now. Even with AI I post a hiring tweet and was looking to hire someone within an hour and prepay for like 30 videos You bombarded me with nonsense ChatGPT messages "I can create captivating content to keep your audience engaged" The "better" DMs had portfolio links, but 99% of them were just shorts with captions on top of a talking head video (takes 45 seconds to edit) The bar has never been lower. Being competent/acting like a real human automatically puts you in the top 1%

I think some people are missing his point here but he’s right, I see a lot of people over analysing stats and spending hours inside YouTube Studio when in reality the sample size is too low for any significant realisations
Buddy you’re getting under 4k views. Those numbers aren’t statistically significant.

My client went from 15k to 72k subscribers in 5 months. He called it "the best editing hire I've ever made." He's now one of the top voices in his niche with videos gettin upwards of 100k views and plenty of conversion to his Skool community I have 1 spot left for Q1.

genuinely colour correction might be effective for your YouTube Business channel than buying a new camera so many business owners are uploading footage straight from a web cam (don't get me started) and it's an immediate sign of quality to a viewer which you can literally fix in 5 minutes a very simple colour correction can take you from basic to A tier, instead of jumping from a $1k camera to a $5k camera and praying low effort + high visual impact

the edit quality on your Skool and education content is directly tied to how much trust your audience has in you bland screen recordings make you look like you don't know what you're doing even if the actual content is solid quality up = trust up my clients know this very well

the reason why your education channel is bleeding viewers in the first 2 minutes whilst others hold 60%+ AVD even though your value is so much higher comes down to 1 easy to miss error at the start of production no matter how valuable the information or content is, if you don't deliver it in an easy to digest way that keeps your viewers interested then you're going to lose them. it's like the guy digging for diamonds meme except you're the one supplying the shovels. the issue you have is your value is great, but 9 times out of 10 the delivery has no structure. if the bones dont work then having big muscles doesnt mean anything. but the fix is easy, so we look at what the top 0.1% are doing and in scriptwriting that's @GeorgeBlackman_ George developed the STP framework that is practically foolproof when followed correctly: 1. Setup: signal to the viewer what information they are about to get (creates anticipation) 2. Tension: build the answer and give context to why it matters to the viewer (keeps them watching) 3. Payoff: deliver the resolution and relate it to the videos goal (makes staying feel worth it) most education channels skip this entirely and just state facts, drop anecdotes, and pray it works. go from: information dump -> well structured and practical, will massively improve your retention P.S george if you see this you're the goat, his website is a goldmine for how to write scripts, definitely worth checking out

most editors think the big skill unlocks are effects, colour grading or flashy motion graphics but the one that actually levels you up is learning how to cut properly, 90% of people do it robotically and cut every breath or every bit of dead air which turns the video into one big run on sentence so now the viewer is sat with information overload. this is especially important in educational videos (like the ones we develop at plated.media 😉) where the viewer needs a pause to process the knowledge you've just delivered fast cuts can be great for retention but if everything is fast then nothing is fast trust me going from: cut everything SUPER FAST MODE -> cut with intention and let the edit breathe will be the biggest quality boost you ever make
