Here’s a new animation I worked on for 350org for the climate summit focused on ending our reliance on fossil fuels.
On a super nerdy level it was really fun using Houdini’s new Kinefx. Being able to go from Points to Joints to Pops and back again made this a breeze. #houdini

What is happening with @MaxonVFX student licensing?
Their new student licensing system requires you to now submit
1. Your Date of Birth
2. Your driver's license & or passport
3. Upload a video recording of yourself
How was this not flagged as an insane ask?
does anyone know why @vimeo is forcing an upgrade when just trying to "share" a video. I already have a paid account. Why does the share link ask me to upgrade?

This is obviously very self serving, but it would be cool if the contributor credits for art/media linked out to a profile page the way that writers credits do on the NYT site. I would love to one click to see all the video this guy has shot for them in one place.
FYI for anyone using @dropbox - TIL you are automatically enrolled in there "Third Party AI" system which shares info with 3rd party companies
Disappointed to see @MaxonVFX double the price of student licenses ($10 to $20). Why can't Maxon get on board like other CG apps & offer students free edu licenses? @AdskMaya =free, @thefoundry = free, @sidefx = free , @Blender = free edu, @Substance3D = free. All free for edu
These aren't tools for creatives. These are tools to BYPASS hiring creatives.
Saying these tools help us is like a supermarket cashier walking into work only to find a bunch of 'Self Checkout' machines installed and thinking "ooh this is gonna make my job easier..."

this is interesting. so Adobe is including new AI tools, totally acknowledging that legally they can't be used for commercial work due to copyright issues, but then burying this info in a consent form that we all know no one except nerds (people like me) are gonna read.
