Imagine telling John Carreyrou (!) that he missed the point of a movie about Elizabeth Holmes. John might understand You Can See Everything more deeply than Nathan Fielder himself. Reading Bad Blood is borderline essential for audiences wrestling with their own interpretations.
A few readers have taken me to task for “missing the point of the film,” which is apparently that Elizabeth Holmes is unknowable and everything is ambiguous. Here’s my response: She went after Tyler Shultz and Erika Cheung with everything she had. I was threatened with litigation on a daily basis for months on end. It was a ruthless cover-up of a breathtaking fraud, and she was at the controls. Just a little context for those who have forgotten or didn’t follow the original story. By the way, I loved the film. #BestPicture, IMO.

Not the device I worked with 12 hours a day, not the device we hid from regulators, not the device we used to knowingly give patients false medical information. The device she showed him was not the reason she went to prison.

I actually enjoyed “You can see everything” but people need to understand that this is not a documentary. And the device Elizabeth showed Nathan WAS NOT THE DEVICE

Last night, I was honored to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award at the London Legal Business Awards. It was a meaningful moment to reflect on what we have built at @quinnemanuel and the people who have helped make the firm what it is today. I’m proud of what has been accomplished and looking forward to the victories to come. Thank you to @LegalBusinessUK for the recognition.

It’s such a shame that some people feel the need to diminish the achievement and make derogatory comments about being ranked in legal directories. I love reading about everyone’s success in the Legal 500 rankings ☺️

Incredible work, essential reading
Manchester City cheated Premier League rules, the Commission found. Did it also cheat HMRC? We've examined the decision and leaked Mancini documents. We think City likely failed to pay £12m in tax. There should be a criminal investigation. Thread:

Just over two years ago, The Times published this feature about my work, written by its award-winning chief sports correspondent, Matt Lawton. Twenty-five years ago, during my pupillage, I was simply hoping to get a tenancy and find work as a jobbing barrister. I never imagined that one day a national newspaper would publish a feature about me. I fell into sports law almost by accident in my first year at the Bar. I found I enjoyed it, and thought it was something I might be quite good at. There were far fewer opportunities then, and far less money in the sport, but I was interested, so I followed that path. Twenty-five years on, the landscape has changed completely. Sports law cases are now often headline news, and so many lawyers want to work in this exciting area. I feel very lucky I followed my passion back then. I was especially pleased that the feature showed me not just as a lawyer, but with another of my passions: photography, and some of my beloved cameras. #sportslaw #followyourpassions @Lawton_Times

Very sad reflection of society that they had to redact the names of the lawyers presumably on some fear for personal safety.

Bit mad that this whole Man City affair doesn't have a widely-adopted name. Probably too big, too sprawling to be a "-gate", I think, but I'm not happy with "the 115". We've had eight years!
