My first impression of psychiatrists in the 1970s was they they were ignorant and dangerous, now in 2021, After 40 years as a service user, and 7 years as a patient campaigner, my view is that they are arrogant, corrupt, ignorant and dangerous.

This is a horrific account of harm caused by UK NHS "mental health" system. I am so pleased this lady escaped from it. She is a warrior
"During my four years of psychiatric misdiagnosis, doctors filled me with drugs that made me dribble and twitch. "The only way I was able to leave the NHS mental health system was to literally escape and run away to another country." Misdiagnosed and heavily medicated, Alexis Quinn spent four years in psychiatric care before escaping to start a new life abroad 👇 telegraph.co.uk/health-fitne…

Two interviews with NIH director Jay Bhattacharya about poor health, poor science, Covid-19, censorship, and Cochrane’s downfall. I have summarised the many interesting issues, with my comments. My own interview was filmed. bit.ly/4ifOLka.

I learned so much from this book. The Pill That Steals Lives, by Katinka Blackford Newman - One pill and she was haunted by violent thoughts of harm to herself and her children! New relevance now with the Lindsay Clancy trial.

Wow!
"NHS spending on autism and ADHD services in Kent has risen from £640,000 to almost £29m in two years, and costs could reach £46m this year." bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cwp9… Another media take on what's going on in Kent. If it's diagnosis linked, then that's an epidemic.

One of the most disgusting things I’ve ever heard. His son raped a 13-year-old girl in Rotherham, England. He says there’s nothing wrong with it. And that it was not rape because "she wasn't a virgin or new to sex.” Evil culture and society.

Thanks. This account has 80K+ followers. No alternative but blocking with some unpleasant accounts. They're too disruptive. This account will continue to block any a/c that is nasty or which is acting as the agent of other interests, or which is in the mis or disinformation game.

If you have blocked a lot of accounts, that could partly explain your lack of reach. The system wont push your posts if they get little attention. And negative attention is good enough for the x algorithm. Clearly, the war needs ending.

SSRIs are a class of drugs that I wish I had avoided like the plague. Numbed emotions are not compatible with a normal, healthy life. All that rubbish about rebalancing chemicals was simply a marketing strategy to sell drugs
There are endless unproven theories about how SSRIs 'work'. But any remotely experienced pracitioner should be able to see that the principle mechanism by which they 'work' (beyond placebo, confirmation bias & natural recovery over time) is by numbing one's total emotional life.

“No one is prescribing antidepressants just because someone went through a breakup, lost a job, or lost someone close.” I can say with confidence that this is categorically untrue across a range of different countries. Not only that, it is common practice to be described SSRIs without any diagnosis after a 5 min appointment.
People have always gone through hard times. Severe depression has been around for a long time too. What is different now is that we can better tell when ordinary sadness has turned into something that lasts and gets in the way of daily life. No one is prescribing antidepressants just because someone went through a breakup, lost a job, or lost someone close. Those are painful situations, and people usually need time, support and sometimes counselling. Major depression looks different. The low mood or loss of interest sticks around, sleep and appetite change, energy drops, thinking gets harder, and the person struggles to manage ordinary tasks. The risk of suicide also goes up. Trials with large numbers of people show antidepressants work better than placebo for moderate to severe depression. The improvement is not the same for everyone, and some people don’t respond, but quite a few do when the medicine is chosen carefully and reviewed. Therapy helps as well, and many patients do best with both. Grief and ordinary sadness need room. Severe depression usually needs treatment. Calling them the same thing leaves a lot of people without useful options.

The protective ring….was a crematory ring. Failure to have pandemic care home policy in place by the then Secretary of State for Health. We were all lied to publicly and from the podium. It is now time to hold account…….step up…… Matt and Boris.
BREAKING: Covid inquiry chair, Baroness Heather Hallett, says that action to protect care homes came too late causing it to "spread like wildfire". Live updates: trib.al/rq3oWgR 📺 Sky 501

The death toll in the Ukraine war already exceeds total British deaths in World War 2. Yet, we are not discussing this fully, and comments by this account on the subject are being held back by powers unknown. We should be talking about this. @theJeremyVine @Iromg @afneil

WHY ISN'T THIS ALL OVER NEWS? Since 2022, we've trained 68,000 Ukrainian troops in Britain. That's an extraordinary number roughly equivalent to our regular army. Various hacks are ongoing too & we get doomsday instructions on emergency rations. What's going on? Are we at war?

I cried to music today. I look forward to experiencing life without SSRIs. People say it takes up to a year for them to completely clear from your system. I have been on them since very young. I wonder what I have been missing. Our feelings are a gift. Even the intense ones.

Psychiatric drugs are first and foremost psychoactive substances... In that sense, psychiatric drugs belong to the same broad family as alcohol, nicotine, and caffeine – substances that alter how we feel, think, and behave, without correcting any underlying defect.

Justice is coming for the COVID Vaccine Injured... two of the original plaintiffs against Bill Gates, Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla, and PM Mark Rutte have already died. The Netherlands Case moves FORWARD as Lawyer Peter Strassen receives a monumental welcome. Peter Stassen walks out of the District Court of Northern Netherlands after a substantive hearing in the civil case brought by Dutch plaintiffs who say they were injured by COVID-19 injections and policies. Defendants include Bill Gates, Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla, former PM Mark Rutte, and the Dutch State. The plaintiffs are seeking personal liability for what they call coordinated deception and coercion. Outside, Stassen and expert witnesses (including Sasha Latypova) addressed supporters and laid out their core claim: the official COVID narrative is false, and the court must decide which side it stands on. The case has already survived jurisdiction challenges and is now being heard on the merits. Two of the original seven plaintiffs have since died.

SHE DIED WAITING Heather Earley, mother of three, has died waiting for her money. @PostOffice kept her waiting so long she ran out of time. Impressive logistics. Lawyer @SimonMGoldberg (well worth to give him a follow) shared the sad news today. Heather Earley was one of 555 postmasters who took the Post Office to the High Court and won, and she died before getting her redress, the money owed to put her life back together. He points to a @BBCNews article from 2024 on victims who died before getting redress. Winning in court and never seeing the money is a rare talent. Heather Earley was a mother of three who ran a local shop with a Post Office counter in Mossley, Newtownabbey, in Northern Ireland. In December 2013 the Horizon computer system said she was £10,000 short. A computer said so, and in the Post Office computers are never wrong.. She says one customer kept using a flaw in the system. Every time that customer withdrew £100, the system added £100 to the balance instead of taking it off. I wish my bank worked like that. Heather Earley called the police, and the customer was prosecuted and convicted. That put the blame on the customer, and the Post Office still demanded the £10,000 from her, took money from her wages and refused to give it back even after the conviction. Crime solved, victim billed ... She borrowed from family and maxed out three credit cards just to buy stock for the shop. She cashed in £50,000 of her pension to save the house and clear her debts. Her village lost its post office and its shop, a truly generous service to the community. In 2019 the Post Office settled the group case for £57.75M. Around £46M went on legal and funding costs, which left roughly £20,000 for each of the 555 people. The judge, Mr Justice Peter Fraser, had said the Post Office at times acted as though it answered only to itself, and it seems to have taken that as a challenge. Reports say at least 350 Horizon victims have died before their final payouts, so at this pace the scheme will finish the moment nobody is left to be paid. Heather Earley wanted justice and enough money to rebuild what was left of her life. Simon Goldberg says the lawyers and other parties who held up and nickel and dimed her redress should feel nothing but shame, though shame does not appear to be billable. Stop fighting these people and pay them before it is too late. Heather Earley never got her cheque. RIP Heather

I think people are not aware of how much mis-information is propagated about this class of medications. I remember being taught to say this to patients: that the increase in suicidality is caused by an increase in energy before an improvement in mood. What studies show is simply an increase in suicidality when people are given these medications compared to placebo. How many people have been talked into taking these medications because of the repetition of these talking points by prescribers?
Who Are the Real Purveyors of Medical Misinformation? One of the most troubling things about psychiatry is how speculative explanations for drug harms become established facts through sheer repetition. Take the claim that SSRIs can increase suicidality because they restore a depressed person’s energy before improving their mood, supposedly giving them the motivation to act on existing suicidal thoughts. This is routinely presented as though it’s an established scientific explanation. It isn’t. It’s a longstanding hypothesis for which convincing empirical evidence is lacking. A 2009 review in Psychiatric Services examined this very theory and found no consistent evidence supporting it. Yet rather than acknowledging that these drugs can themselves produce adverse psychological reactions, including agitation and akathisia, we’re offered a reassuring story about patients getting better. It’s a striking example of how a superficially plausible sounding hypothesis can become received wisdom when it conveniently distracts from uncomfortable truths about drug harm. Just because something is repeated as fact by someone in a white coat doesn’t make it any more true than any other forms of misinformation we hear online. And when we see it we should call it out.
