In 1951, the home of WW2 heroine Odette Hallowes was burgled and her George Cross stolen.
After an appeal by her mother, the war medal was returned with a note saying:
"You, Madame, appear to be a dear old lady. God bless you and your children. I thank you for having faith in me. I am not all that bad - it's just circumstances. Your little dog really loves me. I gave him a nice pat and left him a piece of meat - out of fridge. Sincerely yours, A Bad Egg."

EXCITING NEWS from @ttgda_org !
Most major mainstream online retailers of board games (Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Target, etc) do not list game designers on their websites. One of our important initiatives has been to get designers listed by these sites.

These are my dice for Hoo Hey How, or 'Fish Prawn Crab'. It's a Chinese gambling game where you bet on 1 of 6 symbols. You get ×2 stake for 1 match, ×3 for 2 & ×4 for 3. The Vietnamese version is called Bau cua ca cop or 'gourd crab fish tiger'.

❤️ Yesterday, we welcomed 18 wonderful Veterans who worked at Bletchley Park during WW2 to return to the once top-secret site for the Annual Veterans’ Reunion.
Aged between 97 to (almost) 102, Veterans enjoyed an afternoon tea in the Mansion, spending time together, with family and friends and reminiscing on their wartime experiences.
Hazel Halter, who worked in the Naval Section during WW2, is now 99 years old and attended the reunion for the first time. She said: "I am so glad I came here to my first reunion. I have had a most enjoyable time. I was so happy during my time working at Bletchley Park, with wonderful friends. It has brought back so many lovely memories."

Vance wanting the US to be Republican Rome makes much more sense when you recall that the Romans ate their dinners on lecti ("couches").
Replying to @RobertDownen_
“We are in a late republican period,” Vance said later, evoking the common New Right view of America as Rome awaiting its Caesar. “If we’re going to push back against it, we’re going to have to get pretty wild, and pretty far out there."
