🚨 Ezri Konsa on Gabriel playing through injury and scoring against Everton: 🗣️ Ezri Konsa: “I remember seeing Gabriel go down, and the medical staff rushed over to him. You could tell he was in pain, and honestly, I thought he was coming off. “I asked him if he was alright, and he kept insisting he wanted to continue. I told him nobody would blame him for coming off, but he just said, ‘We’re winning this game. I’m not leaving my teammates.’ “Then, a few minutes later, he was back in Everton’s box for a set piece. I looked at him like, ‘Gabi, are you sure you should be up there?’ He just said, ‘Put the ball in.’ “And, of course, he went on to score! “That’s Gabriel for you. Most players get injured and ask to come off. This guy gets injured and still finds a way to score. “People will talk about his strength, his heading and his goals, but what stands out to me is his mentality. He was in pain, yet he still wanted to fight for his team. “When you have a teammate like Gabriel, you know he’ll give everything for the badge. And that makes you want to give everything for him too.”
