The visuals of ‘BLADE RUNNER 2099’.
Set 50 years after the events of ‘Blade Runner 2049’, the series follows Cora (Schafer), a human fugitive posing as a Replicant, who teams up with Olwen (Yeoh), a dying Replicant and Blade Runner, to hunt down a rogue Replicant hiding a secret that could destroy their fragile city.
All 8 episodes premiere November 25 on Prime Video.

We’re releasing a broad range of new mathematical results produced by an internal frontier model.
We’ve been consulting with the independent Advisory Group on Mathematics and Artificial Intelligence at the Institute for Advanced Study, and we have drawn on their advice and public recommendations to inform how we release these results.

JEP 544 is now Candidate! A major milestone for Project Leyden and the C2 JIT compiler, it speeds startup and warmup by moving compilation into a training run while preserving C2’s dynamic optimization and peak performance 🙂

☕ How Java programs can reach close-to-native performance for matrix-multiply computations on hardware with accelerated MMA support, such as NVIDIA GPUs
☕ How the same Java Tensor API can be mapped across different parallel programming models and vendors while remaining portable for source code and runtime scheduling parameters

Oh wow, The New York Times just reported that OpenAI may have cracked one of mathematics’ Millennium Problems (Navier–Stokes). They also say the OpenAI paper comes with a Lean proof.

We’re sharing a solution to the Navier-Stokes Millennium Prize Problem, one of the deepest problems at the frontier of mathematics.
The proof was produced by a group of agents, using an OpenAI next-generation model significantly more capable than GPT-6 Astra.
The problem concerns whether the description of smooth three-dimensional fluid motion modeled by the Navier-Stokes equations can break down. It has remained unresolved for roughly 90 years.
We need a Wikipedia page called “Proof Race”.
It starts something like this:
“The Proof Race is a 21st-century competition between AI labs to achieve supremacy in automated mathematical reasoning.”

I did not expect this. Anthropic just published a Lean proof of Fermat's Last Theorem.
The proof is +13M LoC, more than 5 times the size of Mathlib.

Over 70 years ago today, the term “artificial intelligence” was coined in a conference proposal: stanford.io/2WJJJGN
In this "Ask the Architects" episode of the Inside Java Podcast, Nicolai Parlog talks to Joe Darcy about Project Valhalla and how Java may support limited operator overloading—allowing custom value types to be added or multiplied with plus or multiplication signs instead of annoying method calls.
