I’m voting for @JimDesmondSD because @marnivonwilpert doesn’t seem care about San Diego people who are struggling with rent and affordability issues
Where was security
Yesterday, I was shopping at a local Goodwill with my teenage son, looking for a Halloween costume, when I was confronted by an angry man who recognized me from my reporting. Wait until you hear what he was mad about.
While my son was in the dressing room, this man approached me, got right in my face and said, “Oh, you’re that person that says kids are being transed in the schools. That’s a lie!”
He was raising his voice, getting increasingly aggressive and refusing to back off when I asked him to multiple times.
I immediately started calling for my teenage son, who happens to be a big football player because at this point, mama needed some backup.
My son came bursting out of the dressing room ready to protect his mama, and suddenly this coward wasn’t so brave anymore. The beta male made his way toward the exit while the entire store just stood there with their mouths open and staring.
For those who don’t know, I’ve written numerous pieces in the San Diego Union-Tribune and @iwfeatures about lawsuits challenging California’s policies regarding unlawful student “gender support plans” and schools deliberately changing student’s names and gender and deliberately hiding it from their parents.
This man was apparently so angry about my reporting that he thought it was perfectly acceptable to confront and intimidate a woman shopping with her child.
I’m not going to stop reporting on the indoctrination in California’s public schools because some angry man who thinks he can intimidate me.
And one more thing to beta males. You might want to think twice before confronting a mama whose teenage son is a defensive lineman and would anything to protect his mama.
None of this is true
LOL. @CBS8 is running with allegations from Escondido City Councilmember @Consuelo_D1 that ICE agents pepper-sprayed children during an arrest.
Problem is, ICE says they were arresting an illegal alien convicted of indecent exposure and charged with DUI, and that NO children were pepper-sprayed.
Official ICE statement:
“On October 22, 2026, ICE arrested Eladio Angel Medina-Quiroz, an illegal alien from Mexico, during a targeted enforcement operation. He was charged with DUI and convicted for indecent exposure.
“On January 22, 2017, he illegally entered the U.S. near Otay Mesa, California and was removed from the country. On February 11, 2017, near Tecate, California, he illegally re-entered—a felony—as part of an alien smuggling event. All of his claims will be heard by an immigration judge, and he will receive due process. This administration will not ignore the rule of law.
“During the arrest, Medina-Quiroz resisted arrest and his wife physically attacked an officer. Officers relied on their training to safely control the situation.
“Claims that children were pepper sprayed are FALSE.

MLB has proposed returning to a 154-game Regular Season, best-of-seven Division Series, and opponent selection in the Wild Card and Division Series
Starting in 2029, shortening the season to a 154-game schedule would create a standard weekly off day benefiting player health, and it would allow the addition of up to 8 more Postseason games by moving to a best-of-seven Division Series format
Beginning in 2027, higher-seeded clubs in the Wild Card and Division Series would select their opponents
He’s already dealing with a back injury
Sources: The #Cowboys will not be immediately extending Joey Porter Jr. contract.
Plan is to have him play and make an impact on a team that has Super Bowl aspirations in the NFC.
Contract will take care of itself from there. JPJ gets a fresh, new start.
How long will it last
Thursday October 1, 2026, 6:00 AM: Intensity of heat event peaks this upcoming Sunday through next Thursday millions of residents from San Fernando, Simi, Santa Clarita, and San Gabriel, Antelope, Apple, Lucerne, Moreno, and Coachella, valleys will feel like 107°F - 111°F with the heat index indicated in purple. Actual daytime temperature range 102°F to 106F°.
The coastal zones and mountains are extremely hot with a temperature range of 90°F to 98°F This puts a lot more folks under more significant heat stress than normal in large populations from Ventura to San Diego counties. Unfortunately 13.3 million people feel this oppressive heatwave may last until mid-October 2026. Due to a very strong El Nino sea surface temperatures will remain above normal for this year.
This adds insult to injury for people trying to get any relief as precipitable values during this period of 1.0 to 1.3in making feel even more humid across our region.
If any residents don’t have any place to go for a cool-down, please ask a neighbor to let them stay at your home.
Please check on the elderly and the pets during this time please don’t walk your dogs during the peak of the heat situation this can cause possible heat exaustion or heat stroke for them. #CAwx #heatwave #October
