Wall Street cannot operate entirely in public, and that’s one of the biggest challenges facing institutional adoption of blockchain technology. Think about it. Imagine managing a $500M portfolio where every transaction, position, and investment strategy is visible to competitors. That’s not something most institutions would comfortably accept. Institutions need transparency, but they also need confidentiality. And neither should come at the expense of the other. This is the problem @primus_labs is working to solve. Primus is building verification and confidentiality infrastructure that makes financial information more useful onchain without requiring sensitive data to become public. Here’s how: 1. zkTLS — Making offchain data verifiable Most financial information still exists outside blockchains. Bank records, balances, reserve information, and financial histories are largely held in traditional systems. Primus uses zkTLS to enable cryptographic verification of information from HTTPS sources. This creates opportunities for applications to verify supported financial claims without relying solely on screenshots, manual statements, or blind trust. 2. FHE — Making private data useful Verification solves one problem. Confidentiality solves another. Through Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE), Primus enables computation directly on encrypted data. This means sensitive information can remain encrypted while supported operations are performed on it. For institutions, this could open the door to more confidential financial applications without abandoning blockchain infrastructure. 3. Why this matters for BNB Chain Primus’s zkTLS verification layer went live on BNB Chain in June 2026. It has also collaborated with BNB Chain and Brevis on ZKredit. These developments matter because institutional adoption requires more than fast transactions and low fees. It requires trustworthy data, confidentiality, and infrastructure that can support real financial needs. And Primus isn’t starting from scratch. According to its project documentation, it has already reported: • 1M+ users across its ecosystem • 10+ paid enterprise customers • $72M+ in Proof-of-Reserve TVL • $6.5M raised in pre-seed and seed funding The bigger picture is simple. Privacy without verification creates trust issues. Verification without confidentiality creates unnecessary exposure. Institutions need both. That’s what makes Primus interesting to me. Rather than trying to replace existing financial rails, it’s building infrastructure to make them more compatible with confidential, verifiable onchain finance. The future of finance shouldn’t require everyone to reveal everything just to prove something is true. And that’s a future worth building. The more I research @primus_labs , the more I realise there’s a lot more to the project than zkTLS and privacy. Primus is building an entire ecosystem around making private data verifiable and useful onchain, and its products are already showing how that works. Take its Proof of Reserve solution, for example. Stablecoins and tokenized assets depend on trust, but users need more than promises that reserves exist. Primus provides infrastructure for verifying onchain and offchain portfolio information, with over $72M in reported Proof-of-Reserve TVL across four production projects. And that’s just one part of its ecosystem. • Primus Dev Hub gives developers tools to integrate zkTLS verification into applications. • Primus Loyalty Program allows users to build Web3 profiles using verified private data. • Primus Confidential Finance uses FHE technology to enable encrypted asset operations, including private holding, transfers and yield-related activities. What makes this interesting is how everything connects. zkTLS helps establish the authenticity of information coming from outside blockchains, while FHE allows supported computations to happen on encrypted data. Primus also uses Trusted Execution Environments (TEEs) to provide additional protection for sensitive cryptographic materials and runtime execution. Together, these technologies create infrastructure that financial applications and enterprises can build around. And the project has been making progress beyond research. Primus launched AlphaNet on Base in 2025, brought its zkTLS verification layer to BNB Chain in June 2026, and collaborated with BNB Chain and Brevis on ZKredit.
