There's a lot of pubs and venues in big trouble right now, in #Liverpool and everywhere else, so to help keep them open go to bit.ly/virtualpints and buy them a #VirtualPint. Cheers! @VirtualPints

And so it continues. Right or wrong, unless it's dealt with properly, Treegate will change things forever.
We are with you & we got you, ladies @toriallenmartin & @sarahhenleyuk

He was always going to imply it was cos their work was crap + they weren't up to it, wasn't he? Such a patronising response and I don't believe it for a second. A man thought he could do better + wanted the credit. Same old. #BurnBright

This is embarrassing for you. A car crash of a statement. I strongly predict The Young Vic whilst under someone like @kwamekweiarmah will flounder. Do better.

How two female writers were pushed out of Idris Elba's debut play Tree nationalpost.com/entertainme…

Ugh it makes me very frustrated that MIF, Green Door etc couldn’t have handled this better and sorted it all out with Tori and Sarah earlier but that’s why their idea for #BurnBright is so necessary.

It’s bullying. Plain and simple. These women have been bullied out of the industry. I intend to see that they fight their way back in.

A public discussion would achieve stand-off of an incredibly charismatic pair of men who both have very powerful voices, against two female industry newcomers already made ill after speaking truth to power. Domineering professional powerplay is its own kind of violence: #themtoo

What would a *public discussion* achieve, exactly? Surely the heart of the dispute is about what exactly was communicated to whom and when, and that should be resolvable from the records of communications. You *did* document any verbal communication in writing afterwards, right?

By stealth, abuse of your position and abuse of a process that you have had full control over, you have stolen the intellectual property of these two women and presented it as your own. This ‘response’ only serves to confirm this. @youngvictheatre should fire you.

Following @toriallenmartin and @sarahhenleyuk’s claims to be the original authors of Tree, for which Idris Elba and Kwame Kwei-Armah are credited as sole creators, @lyngardner asks: Will the authorship row be theatre’s next #MeToo moment? bit.ly/2Xog0SW

Writers @sarahhenleyuk and @toriallenmartin, who became embroiled in an authorship row over Tree at the Manchester International Festival, have received £14,000 in pledges towards their new theatre company, Burn Bright bit.ly/2JvwVJG

Was so excited about #Tree @MIFestival but what happened to these two women is every writer's worst nightmare.
Writing in itself is a vulnerable act. There should only ever be support.

This is a brave and sobering read. Life as an emerging creative is full of fear that the enthusiasm, care and talent you put into the world will be taken, abused and erased. This is a saddening example of work not being recognised and I’m glad you spoke up #BurnBright
Nothing about this is easy but we have to be the change that we want to see. My mental health is suffering as a result so I’m gonna be off the radar for a couple days but enough now, time to #BurnBright. Love you Queen @sarahhenleyuk. Here’s our story. bit.ly/2xryx1r

Words will never be enough, but we’ll try. After eight months of hell the outpouring of love & support we’ve witnessed today has rendered us pretty speechless. You burn so, so bright. Together we can make a difference. #burnbright 🔥👑
