The founder of the wearable device Temple, Mr. Deepinder Goyal (who has blocked me on Twitter) has now put out an official statement regarding concerns raised by the medical community on the said device being a scam.
As expected, he has written a word salad. This man has provided no real evidence or proof that his device, which he is selling for INR 85,000/- can measure and interpret brain flow from a superficial artery (superficial temporal artery - which is an extracranial artery - meaning a blood vessel placed entirely outside the skull, supplying blood to the side of the face, temple, and scalp regions).
His own Science Lead (Avi Roy) has accepted that the fact that their device is not yet proven to measure brain flow or "entropy" as they claim on their website and additionally, has directly addressed concerns of poor methodology as well as statisitical misrepresentation, without respond to clear evidence of data falsification in their pre-print papers.
Other wearables like Whoop (which he cited) measured and validated exactly what the wearable can measure within limits of human anatomy and physiology. Temple is overdoing it and defrauding its potential customers. The device can only measure blood flow and flushing to the face in humans and has ansolutely NOTHING to do with the brain as they claim. This is the issue, not what can happen in the future. The device itself fails its primary objective.
There is no our science and your science. But there is bad science, fringe science and science fraud and Team Temple, embraced all of these.
Temple device is a scam. There is no doubt about it. The question is however, how long can this man and his team keep defrauding people under the garb of "we are spending millions for you" or "we are trying our best" or "we are taking the risk" kind of responses?
These farts in the windtunnel responses are not what is expected from a company who's website claims "solid science". There is solid fraud though - pathetic little businessmen.

In their first 15 tests as captain:
Graeme Smith lost 4 tests.
Steve Smith lost 4 tests.
Steve Waugh lost 3 tests.
Sir Don Bradman lost 3 tests.
Virat Kohli lost 2 tests.
Temba Bavuna has just lost 1 test, and won 13 of the 15 tests, where he has been captain. For any captain, in test cricket who has led his side for a minimum of 15 tests, that is the best Win-Loss Ratio.

Insane. Good of @neha_aisa and other student leaders to refuse signing such an undemocratic measure.

Delighted to be part of the launch of All In A Flash, a tribute to India’s extraordinary news photographers over the last century. Sadly, our newspapers and magazines are losing the art of showcasing iconic news photographs. In the age of mobile phones and AI, the power of an authentic, professionally shot image to capture a moment—and become part of a nation’s history—is more vital than ever.
Well done, @binoojohn, for putting together this wonderful book! 👏

The judicial custody of #AshutoshRanka and #SauravDas must be urgently reviewed and they must be released immediately.
Hoisting the National Flag, even in a prohibited area, should not warrant such prolonged detention. The judiciary and the executive must rise to the occasion to ensure that the youth of this country do not lose faith in the rule of law and constitutional rights.

Sanyal, Dreze is worth 100 of you. A far far far better economist than you, with your supplicant mediocrity, would ever be. And an infinitely better human being who’s done more for India than you or ideological forefathers have ever done.
His work was funded by Ford Foundation and McArthur Foundation. How many million years would it take to those "100 workers" to match billionaires like Henry Ford and John McArthur? Or is this calculation meant only for the non-white billionaires? Saving Indian souls - backed by western business - is a very old game.....

Three honeymoons must have taken their toll on this once brilliant legal star! He says that Ritika Chopra’s expose in Express was “unsubstantiated”. Till date the ECI has not denied (a) Bengal appeals filed with Full Commission Consent (b) Form 6 tinker was objected to by two ECs and (c) Goa ERO’s complaint about central override on local access to portal to restore voters.

People didn't celebrate Modi's birthday, clearly signalling his charisma has died away. Even in societies dominated by BJP supporters, it was difficult to spot one balcony shining with "diya" this evening. Those who planned the spectacle probably exposed Modi's diminishing popularity.

The modern personality cult doesn’t just manufacture admiration. It finds accomplished people to narrate it.
On a somewhat related note, She is absolutely within her rights to write this. But the next time they say, “Don’t drag us into politics,” remember this: they haven’t stuck to just their sport either. They’ve entered every realm of public life. You can’t participate when it suits you and then invoke “don’t drag us into politics” when it doesn’t.
I’ve always loved writing. Sometimes, it’s the easiest way to say what you feel. This year, Modi ji, I wanted your birthday tribute to come straight from the heart. ❤️
I’ve seen changes in Indian sport I could barely have imagined growing up. The support, the opportunities and the belief have meant so much. Across fields, a generation of Indians has learnt to take on the world’s biggest names and believe we belong alongside them.
But it’s the personal moments I treasure. Sharing an ice cream with you. Watching you laugh with my then coach, Park, and knowing he would remember it for the rest of his life. You have an innate ability to make people feel warm, welcome and loved.
I remember your hour-long conversation with my husband, Datta, about identifying unique citizen records, or “golden records” at 10:30 in the night. Back in the car, he couldn’t stop wondering how the Prime Minister knew so much about such a deeply technical subject. Your curiosity stayed with him as much as your warmth.
Happy birthday to our beloved Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Damodardas Modi ji.
With a daughter’s affection, I wish you good health, happiness and many more years of service to our great country and its people. Thank you for always making us feel that our dreams matter to you 🙏❤️

Women wrestlers protested for months against government inaction, faced police aggression and had to approach the Supreme Court before complaints of sexual abuse against a BJP strongman were even registered. But do continue to gush about sports in the Modi era, dear #PVSindhu.

Speculation and claims that the MDR will be charged on UPI transactions are completely false, baseless, and misleading.
Such baseless and sensation-creating speculations cause needless uncertainty, fear and suspicion among our citizens.
The Government remains fully committed to promoting digital payments via UPI.

No, Medha Rupam is not being attacked because she is the CEC’s daughter. But when you and your husband get some of the most coveted postings while you happen to be the CEC’s daughter, questions about privilege and preferential treatment are entirely legitimate.
Most importantly, she is the DM of Noida. It was the district administration’s job to engage with workers when they first sat in protest, hear their grievances and try to resolve the dispute before it escalated into a law and order situation. Once it did escalate the administration headed by the DM was always going to face greater scrutiny and be held to a higher standard of accountability.
That isn’t ‘attacking someone’s daughter.’ It is asking the person holding the district’s most powerful administrative office to answer for how the situation was handled. In fact, refusing to hold Medha Rupam accountable when DMs across the country are routinely held responsible for administrative failures is precisely where her being the CEC’s daughter becomes relevant. Fairness cannot mean invoking her father to shield her from scrutiny. On the contrary, demanding that she be treated differently because of who her father is, is the very definition of privilege!
