SHE WAS 35, LEAN, AND "HEALTHY." TODAY, SHE’S GONE. I am looking at the lab results of a woman who should have had 50 more years of life. Instead, I am looking at the reason her heart gave out this morning. She was the "success" story of our generation. 35 years old, BMI of 20 (thin by any standard), working a high-paying remote job for a US-based company. But behind the laptop screen, her body was screaming for help: The Routine: Working through the night, sleeping through the day. A completely shattered circadian rhythm. The Fuel: Living alone meant no home-cooked meals. She relied on food delivery apps 3x a day. Convenience was the priority. The Silence: She felt "fine" until the sudden, crushing chest pain 12 hours ago. Her blood was essentially turned into a thick, fatty sludge. Triglycerides: 561.10 (Dangerous level is > 500) Total Cholesterol: 300.50 VLDL: 112 (Over double the limit) LDL: 143 (very high) If you are: ❌ Living on delivery apps ❌ Flipping your sleep cycle for work ❌ Ignoring your labs because you "look fit" Please. This is your sign. Her life ended today because her internal health didn't match her external appearance. Your job won't miss you. Your family will.

My remarks at the Oxford Union almost a yr ago have made their way across social media. I gave a perspective on what has changed in India, citing events & anecdotes to support my argument. I’m overwhelmed to see how it has resonated with so many of you.🙏 youtube.com/watch?v=yjFEYRN1…

In December 2004, Tilly Smith, a 10-year-old British schoolgirl, was vacationing with her family in Phuket, Thailand. They were enjoying a day at Mai Khao Beach when Tilly noticed something unusual. The sea was frothing, and the tide was receding rapidly—phenomena she had recently learned about in a geography lesson on tsunamis. Just two weeks before her vacation, Tilly's teacher had shown her class a video about tsunamis. The video described the warning signs that precede these devastating natural disasters. As she looked at the sea, Tilly realized that what she was witnessing matched those warning signs. She felt a sense of urgency and knew she had to act. Tilly immediately told her parents about her observations and insisted that a tsunami was coming. Her parents took her seriously and alerted the beachgoers and lifeguards. Initially met with skepticism, Tilly persisted, explaining what she had learned in school. Finally, the beach was evacuated. Minutes after the evacuation, a massive tsunami wave struck the area. Thanks to Tilly's warning, everyone on Mai Khao Beach was safe. The 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami was one of the deadliest natural disasters in recorded history, claiming over 230,000 lives. However, no lives were lost on that particular beach, all because of Tilly's quick thinking and the geography lesson she had remembered.

Very important video, a must-watch & share with your family groups. A 15-16 yo school girl tries to escape from home as she was trapped by someone via an online game. Watch how the presence of mind of her co-passengers and the bus staffs saved her. Make your family members, especially girl children aware about such things.. Also @cmohry @punj should honor this bus conductor for all his efforts. We need more vigilant people like him in our society.

I applaud the Indian government's announcement to vaccinate girls aged 9-14 against cervical cancer. Let's pledge to prevent HPV and ensure easy access to vaccination. Extending health cover for ASHA and Anganwadi workers, setting up more medical colleges, and streamlining maternal and child healthcare schemes demonstrate a holistic commitment to health.

In 2016, researchers at the University of Adelaide tested Kurt Vonnegut's theory that, "There’s no reason why the simple shapes of stories can’t be fed into computers." They took the emotional arcs of 1300+ novels from Project Gutenberg, turned that into data, used modern tech to analyze the emotional arcs, and then identified 6 patterns seen over and over again in western storytelling. Here they are: 1. Rags to Riches (rise) Your classic underdog tale. A humble, hardworking peasant climbs the mountain to pull the sword from the stone. • Rocky • King Arthur • The Pursuit of Happiness 2. Riches to Rags (fall) Maybe the saddest story of them all. A journey from the highest of highs to the lowest of lows. • King Lear • Citizen Kane • Scarlet Letter 3. Man in a Hole (fall then rise) A character’s doing fine, gets herself into a huge problem, but figures out how to overcome it. They often end up better than they started. “You see this story again and again,” Vonnegut says. “People love it, and it is not copyrighted.” • The Martian • The Hunger Games • Shawshank Redemption 4. Icarus (rise then fall) The hero goes on a meteoric rise up New York (or some other) society, calls everyone “old sport,” and throws the wildest parties in town. Then reality sets in, and he realizes he’s too close to the sun. • Macbeth • Great Gatsby • Death of a Salesman 5. Cinderella (rise then fall then rise) I’ll leave this description to Vonnegut: “We’re gonna start way down here. Worse than that, who is so low? It’s a little girl… the shoe fits, and she achieves off-scale happiness.” • Red Rising • Slumdog Millionaire • The Count of Monte Cristo This is my personal favorite. 6. Oedipus (fall then rise then fall) Up until the ~70% mark of the story it looks like things are sunshine and rainbows. Walter White goes from high school teacher to king of the drug lords, if you will. Then all goes wrong. The original fall is often not their doing while the final fall is. • Hamlet • Gone Girl • Breaking Bad My 3 takeaways: 1. Rags to Riches, Oedipus, and Cinderella rank as the three most popular with consumers. AKA, those books sold the most copies. 2. When you think through a story, give it an emotional shape. Literally draw it. X axis: Time Y axis: Ill fortune to good fortune You might be surprised how much it helps you craft your plot (I was shocked). 3. Vonnegut was a damn genius.
