The beautiful summer-plumaged Long-tailed Duck that continues to grace the Cuckmere with its presence. A plumage I've not seen in the UK before and what a performer he is. Bloody brilliant 🤪

Well what can liven a tough Selsey seawatch...?? 2 frickin' Bee-eaters coming in over the assembled crowd and then - even better - hanging around for 3/4 of an hour!!! Absolutely bloody awesome!! 😜 Bizarrely, 26yrs to the day since I saw my last one at the Bill 😁

My garden Robins obviously had an early start this year! Don't think I've seen a fully-fledged Robling at this time of year before...🤷

The cracking Spotshank up Ferry channel looks pretty much as good as they get......and it shows beautifully which in itself is unusual as normally the blacker they get, the more skittish they get. Wonder when it'll head north?

Well, what a bird!! The stunning male Bluethroat at Swineham GPs did what every good bird should - sat and posed about 10ft in front of the assembled crowd!! Fantastic stuff, especially when it perched atop a bush and began singing....🤪

Another class local bird - not as rare as the shrike - but just as beautiful: the spanking Spotshank in almost full summer plumage that is liking the Ferry channel lately. Absolutely stonking wader!

Cracking male Woodchat today around Honer Reservoir, to the rear of Pagham Harbour. My 1st on the peninsula since '07 so much appreciated and a great find by Jim Weston in a very under-watched area 👍🏻

There's nothing sustainable about krill fishing. Krill are the foundation of the Antarctic marine ecosystem, relied on by whales, seals, penguins and countless other species. The exploitation of krill for profit has to end.

Decided to stay overnight and glad we did as the lovely Ross' Gull showed brilliantly on the rocks along Tolcarne Beach on Sunday morning. Nice back-up birds included Pacific Diver, Ring-billed and Caspian Gulls, Dusky Warbler, Chough, Garganey and Curlew Sand 👍🏻

The Ross' Gull finally put on a fab show at Newlyn Harbour on Saturday, Feb 26th. Having only seen adults before (I know, boo hoo 😂) it was well worth the drive down.....and the sun came out too - prob rarer than the bloody gull! 🤣

A daytime stickdick! These birds are now shockingly hard to find in West Sussex even when roding in summer so to have one showing like this at Pulborough today was a gift!

Our local Slav Grebe in Chichester's Platinum Jubilee Country Park showing beautifully last Saturday....the house reflections - and some bloody sun at last! - making for some fantastic colours. Now if it could only stay until it moults......

A little excursion into Hants last weekend. Fab weather and birds were pretty good too! Can't beat a showy Lesser-spot, the Grackle is still alive and well and then 6 Glossy Ibis at Bridge St Floods was a great way to finish 🤪

A couple of smart antpittas that showed recently in Peru: Ochre-fronted at Abra Patricia and the cool Rusty-tinged at Fundo Alto Nieva. The latter is a bit of a hike, made us wait for the rain to stop but when 2 diff birds came in it was all worth it. Love feeding stations! 😂
