Morning #patchbirding All quiet on the shore with just a few blackwits,curlew ,redshank ,oystercatchers and teal The great -tailed grackle was singing away again and I watched him thru the railings as he strutted about b and m without a care in the world,as workers walked by

Great news , the great -tailed grackle is alive and well and in fine voice 🙌🏼😍 I’ve not seen him since end of July around Speke hall , he’s not gone far tho He was On Dakota drive about 100 yards down from main gate to B and M warehouse #patchbirding

Glorious sunny afternoon #patchbirding Highlight : my first short eared owl of autumn 😍 3 gw egret , lots of teal,redshank,oystercatchers,curlew black-tailed godwits on shore . 2 stonechat, grey wagtail,2 raven ,kestrel,buzzard and a steady stream of skylark and meadow pipit.

A lovely hour #patchbirding tonight , before the rain came in Watching 3 barn owls 😍 Cetti’s and water rail were very vocal

All quiet over high tide on #patchbirding but 2 rock pipit were my 1st of autumn 🙌🏻

A breezy evening #patchbirding Highlights .. my first redwings of autumn 😍 barn owl , the patch raven pair were doing some great synchronised aerial acrobatics and a few skeins of pink feet over

Morning #patchbirding A good number of Meadow pipits and skylark flying over , wheatear on the jetty and best of all a firecrest 😍 by the allotments , just I was leaving ,only my 2nd ever ( no pic sadly tho )

Morning #patchbirding pretty quiet on the shore over high tide , a few black-tailed godwits,teal ,oystercatchers,redshank ,curlew . A wheatear kept me company 😍 A few meadow pipits flew over and 2 kestrel were patrolling the shore .

A lovely Evening #patchbirding The Mersey was like a mill pond so flat and calm with a beautiful sky above Usual waders on shore ..curlew,redshank,oystercatchers,a few little and a gw egret. 2 stonechat, 2 raven,kestrel,buzzard and lovely to see one of the barn owls out early .

Morning #patchbirding 3 wheatear,common sand on jetty over the high tide Skein of pinkies over ,redshank numbers building up, black-tailed godwits ,4 teal , c250 flock of small waders leaving as I arrived which were Dunlin and ringed plover, couldn’t pick anything else out

Morning #patchbirding My 1st 2 wheatear of autumn 😍 2 grey wagtail,4 teal,c250 black-tailed godwits,28 turnstone,c250 mixed flock sanderling,ringed plover,Dunlin 1 common sand Jay and blackbirds were alarm calling and it was a nice surprise to see a tawny owl out in the open.

“Oops-a-daisy” hedgehog took a tumble but it was ok and climbed back up 🥰 It was enjoying the cat food I’d given it

Afternoon #patchbirding A few more redshank and oystercatchers today but less small waders ..50 ringed plover and 3 sanderling ,3 common sandpiper . Evening … nice to see a barn owl out early . 2 kestrel ,2 raven,buzzard ,juv sparrow hawk .

Morning #patchbirding on the incoming tide Reed warbler family and a Cettis Black-tailed godwits ,curlew,oystercatchers, redshank 2 common sandpiper,c400 mixed flock of Dunlin,ringed plover,sanderling and a grey seal popped its head up briefly

Early afternoon #patchbirding c150 mixed flock of Dunlin and ringed plover,2common sandpiper,19 redshank ,3 clouded yellow butterfly on shore and a weasel ? Checking me out A kestrel was mobbed by the young sparrow hawks when it flew into the woods with prey
