Keep screeching 'spam lover' at anyone not joining your BIP-110 UASF LARP. Newsflash: I hate spam, always have, check my bio dipshit. But I also hate authoritarian soft forks that pretend to 'fix' the unstoppable by adding consensus rules nobody asked for. Parasite rewards real block finders and spreads hash power to plebs instead of letting pools centralize it further. You simps beg Core/Knots for filters while I support market-driven Bitcoin that stays permissionless. Real maxis mine and accept fees regulate junk, you just virtue-signal on dead proposals. Cry harder. 🤡

The reason why #bitcoin isn’t already $1,000,000 per coin is because humans are largely stupid. But ask any AI what the most superior money on Earth is. You get either bitcoin or gold depending on the model. Gold is 28X larger in marketcap than BTC today. This gap will close

When my wife and I were in our early 20s and struggling to make ends meet, buy food and pay the rent we knew a woman who was our age. She had three kids from three different absentee dads. Unlike us, she didn’t need to work. She had her apartment paid for by the taxpayers, her medical care paid, her kids childcare paid by the taxpayers. She even got to attend courses at the local college, also paid for by the taxpayers. She had the newest phones, computers and had cable television which we could not afford. Every month in addition to having rent, luxury food, heat, school and childcare paid for she got a check which was more than our combined incomes…she even got bonuses for having so many kids. A decade went by and we worked hard and built careers and the beginnings of financial security. This woman stayed on the system. Never working a day, occasionally attending classes, enjoying days of leisure while taxpayer funded childcare took care of the children. She partied most nights with “the girls” out drinking and able to sleep late most days. Also subsidized. Once my wife saw her buy $200 worth of books at Barnes and Noble - you guessed it, taxpayer funded as a very broadly defined ‘education’ initiative. My wife said “This is ridiculous. Someone should turn her in for fraud.” “But that’s the trick”, I replied “she isn’t committing fraud. This is exactly the way the system is designed. She isn’t breaking a single rule - in fact, because she goes to school she’s considered a model citizen in the program.” This is the nature of government subsidies. It’s not even the blatant fraud and illegal actions - it’s the entire design from top to bottom incentives for waste and grift and horrible economics in even the best cases. There are millions of people just like this wasteful woman, living off the labor of others. There are a million more contractors living even better as facilitators of this grift. And you know what? It’s not even a drop in the bucket compared to the real spending: DoD and other agencies on down who waste more in an hour than 1000 like this woman will grift in a lifetime. Rotten to the core - top to bottom. Theft of your labor and wages by politicians.

Tariffs exacerbate all these problems and do nothing to reverse them. You not only make consumer goods more expensive, you make capital good inputs into production more expensive, ruining competitiveness. Only solution is to stop using broken money

Folks seem extremely confused by the #Bitcoin cash and carry trade, and how it affects market structure. It is the same mechanism in calendar expiring futures and perpetual swap funding rates, and it is a delta neutral strategy. Let me explain how this works: - Funding rates are currently positive (+10% annualised) which tells us that traders are willing to pay an interest rate for the privilege of being long via leverage. - The same is true for calendar futures on the CME, which trade at a premium to spot. - This opens up an arbitrage opportunity, where a trader can long spot (or ETFs), but then short the futures. - For perpetual swaps, the yield is dynamic and volatile. For calendar futures it is fixed and expires at a certain date. Traders can then roll that onto the next contract. - The position is neutral with respect to price risk as it is long spot, short futures. They are not going to be liquidated unless they mess up their collateral or strategy. - Such positions add buy side to spot and ETFs, and short side to futures. Overall, this adds depth, volume and liquidity to Bitcoin markets, but is relatively neutral on market impact. - This is a natural and normal part of market structure. It exists for every asset with a futures market, and every asset that reaches meaningful size will have a futures market. You can't stop it, it won't go away, but you should understand it. Too many folks are confused thinking the spot price is being suppressed by these shorts. The entire reason this trade exists is because people are net bullish, long, and pushing futures prices higher. What is really missing is a serious impulse of non-arbitrage demand to overwhelm spot sell-side from HODLers and existing holders.

The Congressional Century Covenant would be a #bitcoin smart contract designed to lock all BTC sent to a specific address in a unique covenant. This covenant stipulates that only 1% of the total BTC balance becomes spendable each year. The spending of these funds is strictly controlled and requires a multisig majority, where the private keys are held by members of Congress. This ensures that no single entity or small group can unilaterally access or spend the funds, promoting collective decision-making and oversight. Additionally, the covenant includes a vaulting mechanism that allows either the President or a unanimous Supreme Court to veto any spending transaction proposed by Congress. This veto serves as a check on Congressional power, ensuring that spending decisions undergo thorough scrutiny. However, if Congress strongly disagrees with the veto, they have the power to override it with a two-thirds majority vote. This layered system of checks and balances is designed to maintain fiscal responsibility and prevent misuse of the funds. To fund this covenant, the Federal Reserve would create trillions of USD and purchase bitcoin, which would then be sent to the specified address. This purchasing of BTC into the covenant would stabilize the exchange rate and prevent bear markets. The structure of the Congressional Century Covenant ensures that the funds are gradually and responsibly released, supporting sustained economic initiatives while maintaining robust oversight and control.

Some single-use-seal mechanism leveraging Bitcoin could help with the "when" problem intrinsic to key rotation/deprecation. But yeah the "who" part should stay all offchain.

Not gonna lie: I think the fact that many mutually exclusive fraudulent media operations are happening at the very same time, may actually turn out to be bullish for Bitcoin, truth, signal and integrity. The ordinal/BM/rune/cat scammers, while very annoying, are competing for mindshare with: - the sudden resurrection of the BCH/CSW/NYA/BIP300/dogfucking scammers, among the marketing segment more susceptible to the nostalgic "Bitcoin is not really Bitcoin but my shitcoin was, please bro buy it" narrative, - the surviving momentum of the original ETH/DeFi/NFT/metaverse scammers, among the marketing segment more susceptible to the declining "Bitcoin is old tech my shitcoin will flippen it, please bro buy it" narrative. It isn't a harmonious, synergistic, 3-front attack. It's a zero-sum, inconsistent, heterogeneous clusterfuck of 3 incompatible scammy narratives. The first is new and growing, but is still overall irrelevant. The second has already died out and is now briefly enjoying a quick zombified resurrection. The third is old and fading, but it's still the biggest in absolute terms. Nice.

🇧🇷 I'm Simon — a foreigner living in Brazil. I moved here when I lost my job and bank accounts in Europe after speaking out about the restrictive COVID measures in the Netherlands. Now I reside in the middle of the jungle off-grid, building my own little paradise while staying connected to the world with @Starlink. What scares me is not only the fact that the Brazilian government is now threatening to shut down Starlink and X, but also that those who criticize @alexandre and expose his authoritarian actions are being persecuted and arrested. For those of you who have been following me for a while, you know that I speak my mind about everything I consider a threat to personal and societal freedom. Now, more and more people in Brazil tell me to better stop being critical online and just tweet about growing vegetables and the weather, to avoid becoming a target of the wannabe dictator. But the current situation is just the escalation of a gradual trend. ▪️ In the last four years, the unvaccinated have faced heavy discrimination by the media. I was even sued for not wearing a mask despite having an exemption. ▪️ Brazil's Supreme Court has made homophobia punishable by prison, including 'misgendering' men in women's clothes. ▪️ Being critical of vaccines online has become a crime, regardless of whether one supports their opinion with peer-reviewed publications (to what they’re worth these days is another discussion). ▪️ In recent years, I've witnessed several cases of corruption here. It's evidently quite common to bribe the police. ▪️ The media propaganda favoring Lula and the narrative cannot even be surpassed by CNN and The Washington Post. Critical journalists are blocked by @alexandre and even politically persecuted. It's no wonder hardly anyone dares to speak out anymore. During Bolsonaro's presidency, there was much political discussion and openness in the country. However, since Lula was "chosen" as president, there has been an increasing atmosphere of fear: people are less and less likely to express their opinions, and those who do are often politically persecuted or pressured by the prosecution. As a European who has been firmly living in Brazil for three years now, speaks the language, is well-integrated, and has always voiced my opinions without holding back, this situation is concerning. Although it might be difficult to find me in the jungle, one must reckon with the arbitrariness of the Brazilian justice system on a daily basis, especially as someone who has such a significant reach on this platform as I do. Nevertheless, I will continue to step into the ring for the truth. Because if we all allow ourselves to be intimidated, we will wake up tomorrow in a brutal global dictatorship, and this would be far worse than the consequences that I and many others currently fear in this wonderful country. So please support me, and everyone else who still dares to stand up against injustice and the totalitarian trend here in Brazil. We count on you, just as you can count on us. Sunshine! Simon P.S. I'm currently finishing up my jungle studio. Starting next week, my new podcast will go online, in which I'll be discussing events in Brazil and around the world with exciting and well-known guests. Stay tuned - literally!

I started a prediction 303 days ago that I’m eager to see take shape. I believe diminishing returns will be invalidated this cycle. I believe that we are too early in #Bitcoin to see it. So early that what has seemed to be diminishing returns will turn out to be the small group of retail who were intelligent enough to stack and hodl without institutional endorsement reaching its saturation point. I don’t believe these individuals are done stacking, rather they have increased their exposure significantly and need to generate more fiat/value to get more #BTC. I believe the people who have reached their saturation point when it comes to #Bitcoin is less than a percentage of the global population. Most people who hold #Bitcoin don’t have a majority of their wealth in it and will probably sell before that changes. However, the tables are turning and it’s becoming more and more socially acceptable to have increasing exposure to #BTC. (Not that it made a difference to us in the first place) My current prediction that I’m sticking with and am curious to find the real number is a 14.1x from halving to a year after halving. I’m not predicting the peak just what I expect to see if my thesis is correct. It’s basically my fasten seatbelt sign. It’s my winter ISN’T coming sign. I think supercyclors were a cycle early, we didn’t have the demand, but now? Oh baby! Imagine the Gold ETF if supply was truly fixed and predictable… if that lasted a decade, then #Bitcoin’s rise could last well beyond 2140. With current prices my prediction would be $985k+, but I’m waiting until the exact point of halving to get my real number. Surprisingly, this isn’t the most bullish prediction, and I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s too bearish. We will hit supply shocks that will boost demand and snowball into something never witnessed before. Absolute scarcity is still a brand spanking new phenomenon to experience. We know closer to nothing than something about it and this will become blatant as time progresses.
