Well-said, @NickSzabo4. This is such a fundamental idea that #crypto world needs to start embracing asap. Would say every1 should apply this 2 their ICO due dil since many propose new governance models (though unfortunately doesn't really matter as +99% ICOs are shams anyway).
Security has a concept called attack surface: the more kinds of exposures, the greater the attack surface. Similarly we can think of governance as having an argument surface: the more kinds of decisions there are to argue over, the less functional the institution will be.

I became NPR's reporter in El Salvador the year after the assassination. I'm here in LA today w/ my colleague Leo del Aguila, who was with me. We don't get to vote, but it's hard to imagine a figure who merits canonization more than Oscar Romero: n.pr/2MQJmA6

Right! How is the Hill able to reasonably intake all this information on so many crucial matters at one time, process, and make logical decisions that will impact history for decades to come? The timing of the intersection of these issues is curious. teapawt.net/MikeIsaac/status/10468…

1/ Thank you for compiling this data @BitMEXResearch @thetokenanalyst and your take on the impact of ICOs on the crypto ecosystem, especially factoring in the massive decline in ETH these past months. A couple points...
1/ BitMEX Research publishes a new report analysing the Ethereum holdings of the ICO projects. We establish that the ICOs have already sold almost as much US$ worth of Ethereum as they initially raised. Data compiled with help from @thetokenanalyst blog.bitmex.com/ethereum-hol…

9/ However, assuming worst case (ie, all they have left are the unrealized ETH gains) and ETH price of $215, this means each company only has an average of ~421k USD left to burn (!) despite having produced nothing of value after close of token sale.

10/ Lastly, an open-ended question: have ICOs had a net dilution effect or a net augmentation effect on the perception of ETH's utility? #ethereum
