Really was the most fitting end to James Blunt’s game. So passionately wrong about everything. Superb entertainment.

Faithful only won because of the murder in plain sight, that’s the only thing they could get him for.

Autism is different in everybody and also Cat wanted to be a traitor, and was one from day 1, and Bella didn’t really stay long enough to be as invested in the emotional side of the game as James, for example. It’s pointless comparing people.
i like james as a person but people infantilising his bad decision with "he has autism" makes zero sense when bella was also diagnosed with autism as an adult and kept a cool head. as did cat burns last year #CelebrityTraitors

Most people go on the traitors because they want to be traitors. Some people go on wanting to be faithfuls. Absolutely nobody goes on that show wanting to be the first murdered/banished as they simply don’t get to actually play the game.

James’ desire to actually play the game in some capacity was stronger than his distain for becoming a traitor and that’s why he didn’t just tell Richard and Maya to save the other guy.

The Traitors (UK) is a social experiment as well as a game. The Celebrity version is a social experiment within a social experiment. What we’ve (audience and producers) come to learn is that it doesn’t make for as good a game/TV with less at stake. And that’s okay.

Has it been different than previous years, yes. Has it been entertaining, still yes Has it been unpredictable, still yes Is it still the most watched TV programme of the year, still yes.

You cannot name a reality tv show that has consistently improved with every season. There are dips and peaks. This is the Ben Haenow in a history of Leona Lewises and Alexandra Burkes so to speak.

I'm struggling to see how James Acaster playing the game as if he wanted to be a Faithful is ANY different to Richard E Grant crashing out because he was a Traitor or Joe Lycett crashing out because he wasn't. That is the game, the social experiment, the TV show.

I think people miss the fact that James was initially given the role of a faithful (which he wanted) and it was taken away from him before he had any time to actually play the game as one and his only options then were to quit (without playing the game at all) or become a traitor

I think if he’s given more time as a faithful or even if he’s selected as a traitor from the very beginning he plays it differently, whether that means he stays in the game as long, I don’t know, but I don’t think that would have mattered by then.

Production has messed this series up more than any contestant has. Letting the traitors recruit day one. The murder in plain sight being as ridiculous as it was. The blindfold task designed to fuck the traitors over. It’s all been poor. The celebs can play them at their own game.

You can’t be critical of James without acknowledging the consequences of the likes of Richard and Joe and we thought their actions were quite funny despite them also spoiling the game.

They only toured a couple of years ago and they have no new material… who is going to want to go to this honestly???

Maya needs to murder Michael regardless of how much it points the finger in her direction. That man will not stop until she’s banished and I don’t see a world where he is the last faithful left standing with both her and Kenny.

In outing himself James effectively outed Michael as a Faithful so the only people who would feel the need to vote him out now are the traitors. He’s gotta go if Maya stands any chance whatsoever.

If there’s one thing an autistic person doesn’t like it’s when plans change (especially at short notice) so James A having to deflect basically immediately after being selected as a faithful would have been the biggest inconvenience internally 😭

I think it’s a bit unfair to be all ā€˜well he shouldn’t have been cast/agreed to do it if he didn’t want to be a traitor’. For every Acaster you have a Lycett, and him so badly wanting to be a traitor, and not being, was his downfall. And secondly it’s a social experiment…

It’s a social experiment not just for us, but for the producers too. Having Honest Ultra Faithfuls in the game (as traitors) gives a dynamic neither we or them have never seen before, we don’t want the same thing every season although this time it missed the mark.

But in a show like this just one thing happening slightly differently can completely change the course of the game. This season is definitely the ā€˜what if’ season because it was such a chaotic start with the instant recruitment and Richard fucking up.
