Insane underflowed story! Polyakov (Ukranian) basically got his rocket company taken from him by CFIUS for $1 after plowing >$200m into it on allegations he was a Russian spy, then years later they come back with a "oops, looks like you aren't a spy... at least you got a dollar."
Well. Wow. As I reported in detail in "When The Heavens Went on Sale," the US government took Firefly away from @maxpolyakov after he put $200m into the company, while accussing him of being a potential Russian spy.
Now, the government has changed its mind. prnewswire.com/news-releases…

$HWM John Plant has cemented himself in the A&D hall of fame. Rebuked Apollo’s $10 B offer for ARNC in 2019 (told that figure had earn-outs too). Today HWM + the remaining ARNC later sold to Apollo is worth ~$40 B. And DESPITE an unexpected pandemic and Boeing’s meltdown. Legend.
SPR +16% on news. SPR +14% since separation in 2006. Boeing's relentless pressure to squeeze every dime of cash flow out of SPR as essentially their only customer (I mean, "partner for success") ultimately led to SPR's incredible fragility/quality issues. Shocker!

To restore the Boeing culture to technical excellence, my advice would be first to move the corporate headquarters back to Seattle. It’s difficult to manage a technical organization from a distance. Executives need to be in the factory every day.

Trane Technologies?
This company embodies the irresistible allure of industrial pureplays
Thank you to Brett Larson and @NZSCapital for bringing this one to @bizbreakdowns
▫️ $50bn market cap (TT) yet rarely discussed
▫️ 100+ year history of between independence and "conglomeration"(Ingersol)
▫️ Epic father + son founder combo with James and Reuben Trane
▫️ Textbook equipment vs. aftermarket mix-shift story (~70%/30%)
▫️ Resi vs. Commercial segments highlights unique demand dynamics
▫️ Customer cost is split: 10% equipment, 10% maintenance, 80% energy costs (...think about how that drives pricing vs product considerations)
▫️ Secular opportunities (decarbonization) in what you'd assume is a cyclical industry
▫️ Operating system comes with Toyota DNA and 25% incrementals
