If a client says the leads aren't good, I want to see what's coming in. Outside the service area? Work they don't do? Projects that are too small? I wouldn't make the same changes for all of those. I also want to know which inquiries were good and what work they want more of.
Before you delete pages during a website rebuild, check what's bringing in traffic and inquiries. Map any URL changes, redirect each old page to its replacement, and test the links.
Planning a rebuild? Reach out if you want help sorting this out.
Getting search traffic but not many inquiries? Check a page people already visit. Read it on your phone, send a test inquiry and see what the business receives. Missing details, a frustrating form or a missed notification could be part of the problem.
Trying to show up in AI search? Look at the related searches AND the pages it cites. Sometimes you need a better page. Sometimes a relevant listing or brand mention is the better move.
Here’s how to check. Want help with this for your business? Reach out.

I don't put much weight on hitting a word count for SEO. If I'm looking for a contractor, I want to know if they do the work I need and see similar projects. I don't need six paragraphs about quality. Maybe the page needs better examples and less copy.
My kids recently showed an interest in skating. With no meetings this morning, I dusted off my board.
Life is about more than increasing your MRR and making money. Skateboarding lets me step away and do something I’ve loved since I was a kid.
If you're rebuilding your website, check which pages bring in search traffic before deleting them. Keep useful content. If a URL changes, redirect it to its replacement, not just the homepage. Test the redirects before launch and again once the site is live.
Really great "debate" on SEO vs GEO.. spoiler.. the GEO guy is clueless about the product he sells 💀

More evidence that llms.txt is pointless.
I posted about some “conflicting” statements I found in Google’s Search and Chrome Dev docs on r/SEO, and Google’s very own @JohnMu confirmed it's pointless.

The number of people in SEO who parott statements without understanding them - like ":you must prefer high DA backlinks"
Of course you should. I always prefer contracts where the customer offers >$1000 an hour - but then I'd only have a few contracts....(not bad either). But if you want to grow - there's a whole plethora of contracts that are highly desirable that aren't $1000 per hour....
Backlinks from any page with traffic will drive topical authority. Topical Authority is cumulative. Here's the math:
1 x 100k - 85% = 15k PageRank "base points"
10 x 10k - 85% = 15k PageRank "base points"
100 x 1k - 85% =15ik PageRank "base points"
Easy way for a new or low authority site to find low-competition keywords and ship pages that rank.

SEO’s - check your page titles. Make sure they aren’t causing keyword cannibalization.
And if you’re on Wordpress (or any other CMS that has a “website title”) - delete the site title. It’s not helping you 🥴
Shoutout to @DavidGQuaid for this reminder today.

Google literally tells you what it wants to rank you for 👀
→ Open Search Console
→ Go to Performance → Queries
→ Find high impressions, low clicks
→ Add them to your content or make new pages
That’s it. Real traffic. No ads.
