The days will pass, and little by little, each of them will go their own way. Time will do what it does best: wounds will heal, and they will both find a way to move forward. They will fulfill their dreams, continue with their lives, meet new people, make new friends, live new experiences, and build new versions of themselves. They will have new lives, new opportunities, and new fans. The world will keep turning because that is how life works: it never stops, no matter how much we wish we could freeze a moment and keep it forever.
And then, when they least expect it, perhaps one day they will look back just a little and realize that they are both so far away from each other and, at the same time, still so close. Because some people, even when they no longer walk beside us, somehow find a way to remain in a little corner of our hearts.
Perhaps by then, they will be living the lives they once talked about, fulfilling the dreams they once imagined together. And even if those dreams come true on separate paths, there will always be something from that time that belongs to them both. They will forever be part of each other's stories, part of those memories that time does not erase but transforms into something sweeter, more distant, and perhaps easier to remember without hurting.
And maybe, if their paths ever cross again, all they will be able to do is look at each other, smile with the kind of affection that survives goodbyes, and keep walking. Without resentment, without sadness, with the peace of knowing that, at some point in their lives, they were lucky enough to find each other and mean everything to one another.
And although I would give anything to have a time machine, to go back to those days and search for a timeline where they were still together, or a universe where their story had no ending, I know I cannot ask life to change its course simply because my heart still wants to remain there.
So, if this is the life they are meant to live, I only hope it will be beautiful for both of them. I hope they fulfill every dream they have, find the happiness they deserve, and never forget all the love they once shared whenever they think of each other. I hope they never become two strangers who have forgotten what they once were, but rather two people who, even from afar, can wish each other the very best with the same affection with which they once chose one another.
I will always remember them with love. And my greatest wish is for them to remember each other that way, too: with love, with tenderness, with gratitude for having found each other and for everything they meant in each other's lives.
Because even if there is no longer a forever we can witness, that does not mean what they had was any less beautiful. Perhaps some stories are not meant to last a lifetime, but to become a part of us that we carry with us forever.
And if there was ever a universe where they were eternal, I like to believe that, somehow, their love will continue to live there, untouched, without goodbyes and without endings.
Goodbye, my beautiful JoongDunk. Thank you for existing, for giving me so many happy moments, and for being, for such a long time, a beautiful place my heart always wanted to return to. I don't know what the future holds for you or what place you will have in each other's lives, but I hope that when you look back on those days, you will find reasons to smile.
And I, from here, even though it hurts to let you go, will keep your story in the most beautiful corner of my heart. Because some loves don't need to stay by our side forever to deserve an eternal place in our memories. 🤍

Now, thinking about it more clearly and trying to be realistic, there are still days when I have so much hope that they might be able to start over again. However, when I look closely at the patterns from the past few months, I feel like everything is beginning to make sense: the distance that had already grown between them, which we tried to interpret positively at the time; that fear that, even though we kept it to ourselves, I think we all shared; the so-called “drought era,” which we thought was simply a joke; Joong crying at almost every event; the anniversary message, which only had a “5,” while Joong congratulated us; and, finally, the birthday message.
I feel like all of this had been building since August, and perhaps that was the turning point. Even so, we continued to trust them because that was what they had asked of us. Although deep down I knew that something wasn’t right, I never imagined that things would eventually lead to a separation.
Maybe whatever happened between them was much bigger than we could understand, and they simply couldn’t move forward together anymore. That might be why there were so many signs during those months, but none of us wanted to see them or talk about them. We were too blind to realize that, behind everything we were seeing, there was probably a great deal of pain.
Being realistic, I don’t think they will get back together. And accepting that hurts so much.
Guys, this is only my personal opinion: my own reflections, my own fears, and my own feelings. I’m not claiming anything, I’m not making assumptions, and, above all, I’m not trying to come up with theories. These are simply my thoughts and the way I’m processing everything that has happened.
We will never truly know what happened or what circumstances led to that decision. Just as there are moments when I sincerely pray to the universe for even the slightest bit of hope, there are also days when I try to keep a clear head and be as realistic as possible about the whole situation.
In the end, we never know what the future has in store for us. For now, I think all we can do is heal, each at our own pace, and allow time to do its part. Even so, I will always believe that the love they have for each other is stronger than any circumstance.
I have always seen them as something that goes beyond simply being coworkers. I’m not necessarily talking about a romantic relationship, but rather a deep connection—one of those connections that leaves a mark on you for a lifetime.
The red thread exists for a reason. And even though we may not understand the path they are taking right now, I want to believe that fate never gets it wrong 🫂
Many people think it is an exaggeration. They look at you strangely when they see you grieving because an actor duo or a ship decides to close a chapter of their professional journey. They tell you things like, “But they were just acting,” “They each have their own careers,” or “Just find another series.” And that is when the pain becomes silent, because you feel embarrassed to admit that your heart is broken over an announcement.
What almost no one talks about is that the pain following GMMTV’s announcement about JoongDunk’s separation is completely real. It is known as parasocial grief, and it is a legitimate grieving process. We are not simply mourning two people who will no longer share projects as a couple; we are mourning the loss of our safe place.
For many of us, watching Joong and Dunk together—their interactions, the way they supported each other, and everything they built from Star in My Mind to The Heart Killers—was a refuge we turned to when the real world became too heavy. They were a comfort zone on anxious days, a genuine source of happiness through a screen, and the feeling that we were witnessing a unique kind of connection.
When the end of an era as a ship is announced, it is not only their professional careers that change. It can feel as though a chapter of your own life is closing, as though someone has taken away the space where you felt happy and safe. It is the loss of a deep emotional connection that, even from a distance, carried the hearts of an entire fandom more than once.
If you are processing the JoongDunk news and feel an enormous emptiness, I want you to know that you are not crazy, you are not being dramatic, and your sadness is not ridiculous. You lost something that mattered to you, something that brought you comfort and became part of your everyday life. You have every right to grieve the loss of your safe place.

Before I let you go, I admit that I begged the universe to make you stay. Before I let you go, I have to admit something I've been holding onto quietly I begged the universe to make you stay. In all the silence between us, in every unanswered question, I found myself hoping that somehow things would shift, that time or fate would soften the distance between us. I held on longer than I should have, not because I didn't understand what was happening, but because a part of me believed in what we had a little too deeply to walk away without trying in every way I knew how.
But love isn't meant to be something we plead for or chase until it breaks us. As much as it hurts, I'm learning that letting you go is the only honest thing left to do. I'll carry the memories, the laughter, and even the ache with me, not as something to regret, but as proof that what I felt was real. And even if the universe didn't answer me the way I wanted, I'll find a way to accept that some people are only meant to be part of our story for a while not forever.

attachment is not a joke. losing your favorite person can mentally destroy you.
When I see everyone talking about “new partners,” I can’t help but think: why? Seriously, why?
Why start building everything from scratch with a complete stranger? What’s the point of starting over when you’ve already met someone who understands you, who truly knows you, someone who fits with you in a way that perhaps only happens once in a lifetime?
Maybe, someday, someone new will come along. But… will it be the same? Will it feel the same? Will it have the same meaning to build something from the ground up with someone who is only beginning to discover you, when there’s still a possibility of starting over with the person who already knows every part of you?
Not the way it was before. Not to recreate what you had, but to make it better. To find each other again from the beginning, but this time with a deeper, more conscious, more mature kind of love.
And yes, Catalina, I know this is all about work. I know. But even in the simplest things — at work, in a friendship, in any kind of relationship — what truly matters is how well two people complement each other, how deeply they understand one another, and how much they can grow together.
Maybe I’m overthinking everything. Maybe I’m driving myself crazy with all these possibilities running through my head. But I can’t stop wondering: why look for something new when, perhaps, what they already had could still become something even more beautiful?
I’m sorry. I think I’m genuinely losing my mind. 😭
Please upload another photo like this one. We can start over, we'll pretend nothing happened, none of that horrible nightmare happened. We can always start over, right?
