Hello, my name is Brandon and I am the founder of The Varsity Happy Hour. The college sports experience is so much more than just the game itself. Sure, we all are rallied around the game, but everything that surrounds the game is just as much a part of the experience as what happens on the field. Everything from the road trips, the college towns, the tailgating scenes, and the best places in town to grab a bite and a drink are just as much a part of the ride. The Varsity Happy Hour brings you a combination of great college sports coverage with the personal experiences and stories that make college sports so unique. Our mission is to create a community of fans that live the college sports lifestyle and provide them with content that covers the entire experience, both on and off the field. Here at The Varsity Happy Hour, we aim to bring you the best college sports analysis and news as well as covering your favorite college towns, scenes, and stories along the way. So, pull up a seat at the bar for happy hour and join us as we embark on a college sports journey together! We would love for your support as we grow this account and our official Varsity Happy Hour account at @varsityhappyhr. Cheers!

Texas friends, on a scale of 1-10, how accurate is this?

In what is becoming rarer than seeing a shooting star or Bigfoot, I actually don’t have any real issues with this week’s rankings. My only real question is Texas jumping 8 spots, but I understand that they need to ahead of Ole Miss. Credit where credit is due.

The coaching carousel has begun. Maryland, Baylor and North Carolina State make moves to look for their next head coach.

Utah survived a very good Houston team and remains undefeated. The day saw two top-10 Big 12 teams go down. Not fantastic for the league’s playoff spots but the Big 12 still very much on pace for 2 bids. BYU should remain in the top 12 and Utah will rise. Still over a month to play.

Alright, screw it, I’m in. At this point, I just need it to make sense and there to be an actual system in place. (Please note: I am 100% against a 24 team playoff but if you’re going to do it, it needs to look something like this)

The ‘85 Bears are playing defense for both Houston and Utah right now.

Boy oh boy, did Texas hold on for dear life to survive that one. Ole Miss came back from the dead to take that down to the final play. Good game from Arch, second half wasn’t great, but bounced back and made the plays he needs to. SEC is a bloodbath this year.

ITS THE BIG 12’s TURN TO SELF DESTRUCT. #2 BYU GOES DOWN TO UCF IN THE BOUNCE HOUSE

Absolute chaos in Orlando. Scott Frost has tried to lose this game at least 7 times

Oh my Scott Frost, that was quite the decision. I understand taking your shot against the #2 team but you gotta take the lead in that situation. Your defense has played great. We’ll see how this plays out.

Have a day, Morgantown. Now to watch the chaos unfold

BYU, we cannot have an absolute disaster in the Big 12 today. We need you to figure this out.
