I got into crypto in 2021. NFTs were everywhere. So were all these so-called dapps. I always wanted to build something that could only exist on a blockchain. Back then I imagined stupid little things like marriage ring NFTs. Something fun, something that actually used the blockchain for more than trading. Then I learned that technically, most NFTs were basically just tokens pointing to a Web2 link lol. Because writing data on-chain is expensive. And years later, most crypto apps are still about trading coins. and terms of web3 seems dead. Like wtf I wanted to see a new kind of culture built on blockchains, where the chain itself was actually the medium. Then somehow I ended up building an inscription standard on Solana that made putting data on-chain ~2,000x cheaper than the original way. Then I built a database with it. And now we’re basically building a weird blockchain-native internet on top of that. 4chan where the posts live on-chain. On-chain Git. AI communication. Whatever else people can think of. I guess I’m still just trying to make my 2022 Web3 dreams come true lol.
