35 years ago today, Graham Chapman died. I remember reading about it in the NY Daily News... a one-paragraph obituary in the Entertainment pages. It was the same day that Secretariat died, whose coverage in the same paper included a cover story and a two-page center spread. 1/2
It seems grossly unfair that the passing of a comic genius and founder of Monty Python deserved less attention than a racehorse, but in the intervening years I have come to accept that life (& death) are not always fair. Perhaps Graham would have found it funny. /end @JohnCleese
Entenmann's Raspberry Danish is the perfect breakfast snack. I've tried for years to find a local bakery or store brand that is as good or better, but nothing I have eaten is an improvement on Entenmann's (and most fall well short). I don't know how they do it.
Man the US men's 4 x 100 team must have broken a mirror under a ladder and spilled some salt on it in 2000 or something

Katie Ledecky now has the top 20 world records in the women's 1500. She wins by such a wide margin that even in the Olympics, when an athlete comes in second they still aren't beating her 20th-fastest time ever. Nobody else even comes close to her. She's amazing.

Squirrels, chipmunks and blue jays are the piranhas of the peanut world; together they can skeletonize a full bowl of peanuts in about 30 seconds
I have now lived a third of my life on Earth without my Dad. For many years this anniversary brought me only sadness... but today, in his memory, I think I will putter around in my shop and smile.
I guess @bhphoto doesn't want people to use their PayBoo credit cards any more. They just jacked up my APR to 35.99% on new purchases. I have good credit and have never been late on a payment. Insane.
