Sometimes the truck is the office! One of the perks of being an independent agronomist is that my office goes wherever the work takes me. Staying connected to my growers, even when I'm on the road!

The fields are quiet, the stubble is all that remains, and winter is just around the corner. 🌾 Another growing season behind us, but the planning for next year is already underway!

Harvest might be wrapping up, but the planning for next year's crop is just getting started. What we learn from the soil this fall helps make better decisions for 2027.

Who’s running MAD concaves in a new holland cr for corn? Had trouble with them not letting enough corn out of the concaves last fall so we put our large round bar back in. I have the o-grate small sections and a 500 extension. I’m told the o-grate ext will make the difference?

A SWAT MAP is only as good as the data behind it! Ground-truthing allows me to verify what’s actually happening in your field, ensuring your map accurately reflects soil and water variability for better management decisions.

Feeling especially grateful this Thanksgiving. 🧡 Thankful for family, friends and my growers for your patience and support following my recent accident. Sometimes life forces you to slow down and appreciate those who stand beside you through the unexpected. Happy Thanksgiving!

Last inspection field of the year!!! 🙌🥳 It's chilly, I'm regretting not wearing a toque, and I officially made it through every soybean inspection with a sprained ankle. 🤷‍♀️ Not exactly how I planned to finish the season, but you do what you gotta do! 🌾

Not all soil samples come out smooth… 🪨 Damn rocks. 😂 Just part of the job when you’re trying to see what’s really going on beneath the surface.

Down to my last 3 field inspections of 2026 on this chilly fall morning. 🥶🌾 The season is definitely winding down!

Soil sampling is more than pulling a few cores. I use 15+ GPS-located sample points that account for topography and field variability, returning to the same points each year to help build better crop plans and agronomic decisions.

In agriculture, we know about putting one foot in front of the other, even when the road is long. Terry Fox showed us what determination truly looks like. Congrats to all the kids who fundraised and walked for Terry this week, carrying his incredible legacy forward. 🇨🇦

A little bumpy, but this is SWAT MAPS in action. The map guides me through the field, showing me exactly where to collect each sample so we can get a better picture of what’s happening across every zone.

Sampling with a view. 👌 Not a bad office for the day! Soil sampling season is in full swing, and I’m happy to be back out in the field.

You can farm a field for years and still have it surprise you. SWAT MAPS help put some data behind those spots you’ve always wondered about.

Farmers are eager to get back in the fields and harvest moving again. That means more farm equipment back on the roads too. Please slow down, give them space and be patient. We appreciate all the support and understanding as we work through this drawn-out harvest of 2026.

There’s a whole lot of chatter about daylight saving time today… but in the ag world, we’ve been running on sunrise and sunset since the test of time. 🌾 So while everyone else debates whether this is great news or terrible news, we’ll carry on… and pray it doesn’t rain. 😅

Harvest is showing you where the field performed differently. SWAT MAPS help explain why. From dry hilltops to water-collecting low spots, understanding these zones helps make sense of what you’re seeing from the combine.
