If ever you feel stressed out about politics, finances, parenting, work, a relationship, or just life in general, come back to this tweet...just listen and relax. Let the call of a loon take you to the wilderness, away from it all.
A place to appreciate the artistry of both nature and humanity is Glenwood Lake and Boxwood Cemetery in Medina. The lake and stately trees afford you the chance to watch wildlife while the cemetery features incredible history. #Nature365
October and November are the domain of oil beetles -- also known as blister beetles. Look, but don't touch. Here's a column I wrote about them last year:

And on top of that, many of its preferred flowers are past bloom
When I see a monarch in WNY in mid- or late-October I can't help but think it's the loneliest of souls. It emerged well after most all of its species, it missed the boat for mass migration, it has no mates, and a cold snap could kill it prematurely #Nature365

Birds Canada notes that loons are in decline. Sometime soon I will be writing a column about the same...but with an entirely different assessment: I believe loons are declining quickly (in the Adirondacks specifically) due to the rapid rise in otters birdscanada.org/news/new-com…
We are at the northern edge of the range for the Carolina Wren. Their local numbers plummeted dramatically due to two brutally cold winters in a row. The birds either died or went/stayed south. If el Nino projections hold true, expect a noticeable rebound in 2027 #Nature365
As world leaders meet at a UN summit to preserve the world's animals and plants, a group of scientists is pushing to protect another diverse kingdom of species they say is too often forgotten – fungi. cbc.ca/news/science/cop17-fu…

My favorite Tom Skeritt performance: the final episode of Bonanza. The show features very little dialogue as it's Tom's character, the deranged Cpl. Tanner, hunting Joe Cartwright in the desert. A darn good episode youtube.com/watch?v=llI0Qka6…
WNY Food 4 Paws provides cat food and dog food to food pantries across WNY. Last night, I chatted with Jacqueline and Tracy about their organization and how their army of volunteer get it done.

In November, the Lake Plains Players will be entertaining you with their production of Guys & Dolls. Last night, I chatted with Becky Witty and Erin Moody -- two performers from the musical -- about Guy & Dolls as well as Lake Plains Players in general.

I promise you'll have as much fun watching this interview as I did hosting it. Energy, humor, joy, and even some magic
@WKBW legend @MikeRandallon7 is still entertaining WNYers in retirement as Mark Twain, Charles Dickens, and Mike Randall & Friends.
