‼️🚨The shelter is starting the week 53 DOGS OVER its humane limit. Bringing RORSCHACH home would be the perfect way to save a life🚨‼️
Some of you know Rorschach’s story: A single mom who was struggling herself opened her home to him when she saw him being sold as a skinny puppy at a gas station. 😞 For the first year of his life RORSCHACH was a beloved brother to his 4 human siblings. He thrived in a family home.
I want to talk about the day I drove him away from his family to the shelter. It’s painful to re-live, but it is part of his story and I hope that telling it will move someone to come for him.
RORSCHACH’s family had tried everything to keep him, but this was out of their control. (Please no unkind words about his family. When I say they had no choice given the circumstances, that really is true.)
I could tell RORSCHACH knew something was wrong. Despite being only a year old he is a calm, quiet boy with gentle giant energy, and I had only heard him bark a few times before that. But I had never heard him CRY. He cried all the way to the shelter, and the entire time we waited in the parking lot to check him in. I will never forget that sound. 😭
When we took him out for a few hours yesterday, I wasn’t sure what to expect. Would he be as upset as the last time I saw him?
But RORSCHACH was absolutely perfect, and that almost made it harder. He was the calm, sweet, gentle boy I’ve always known him to be. And now that perfect boy is sitting in that shelter, desperate to find his way into a home that will give him as much love as he gives back.
