Everything in the world changed with this divine pronouncement in the spring of 1820:
“This is My Beloved Son. Hear Him!” (Joseph Smith—History 1:17).
The heavens opened and God began, again, to speak to His children.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints did not spring from a pulpit of great acclaim with some self-proclaimed preacher.
It returned to earth in quiet majesty with the appearance of God the Father and Jesus Christ to Joseph Smith, the first Prophet of the Restoration.
In my remarks to students at BYU yesterday, I spoke of many important dates coming up or just behind us to celebrate the Restoration in these latter days—including the bicentennial anniversary of the establishment of the Church on April 6, 1830. Each of these dates is a reason to shout “Hurrah for Israel!”
Since the early days of the Restoration, the pioneer phrase “Hurrah for Israel!” has been an important expression in our faith.
We celebrate our history because when we know where we have been we know what the Lord expects from us now. We are to carry this work forward.
Nothing you do in your life will be more important than gaining and living your testimony of our Father in Heaven and His Son, our Savior Jesus Christ.
I pray that you will proclaim with hope and fervor as you serve the Lord, “Hurrah for Israel!”

Weird how the gas price map of the US is like the inverse of the political map of the US.
Hmm. Probably nothing!

PATRIOTIC PUSHBACK: KISS legend Gene Simmons made his feelings about America crystal clear during a NEWSMAX interview Tuesday, declaring himself unapologetically patriotic and saying he has little patience for people who disparage the country.
The rock icon, who was born in Israel and immigrated to the U.S. as a child, expressed his deep love for America and made it clear that his patriotism is nonnegotiable.
"I'm patriotic. Embarrassingly so," Simmons declared, adding that anyone who speaks negatively about America risks losing his friendship.

The Word of God is infallible. The Bible was put together by men.
Nowhere in scripture does God say "there will be a Bible" or "it will have 66 books."
Church councils decided which books went in, centuries after the apostles.
And the Bible itself points to scripture that isn't in it: the Book of Jasher (Joshua 10:13), the Book of the Wars of the Lord (Numbers 21:14), Paul's earlier letter to the Corinthians (1 Corinthians 5:9), and his letter to Laodicea (Colossians 4:16).
God's word is perfect. Not all of it is in one book.
Name the verse that says God stopped speaking.

Elder Bruce R. McConkie visited my mission and gave this advice: Invite people to read the Book of Mormon. If they say no, invite them to church. If they refuse, ask them to pray to know the truth. If they refuse again, walk away. You're wasting your time and the Lord's.

ENOUGH of the hidden Car Tax!
California's basic vehicle registration fee is $73. But Sacramento piles on extra taxes and fees to gouge you for hundreds more every year.
As governor, I'll eliminate those extra charges. Then I'll ABOLISH the DMV entirely.

Walter Koenig has passed away.
Everyone got to show their comedy chops in Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home, and Chekov asking for directions to the "Nuclear Wessels" and the interrogation scene are real highlights.
Koenig often cited The Voyage Home as his favourite Trek film.

I took about 50,000 photos through a 14" telescope last night to produce this: A hyper-detailed photo of the full moon. The fidelity of the photo was great enough to allow me to greatly enhance the color, revealing a hidden world of geological diversity.

This box of Maine absentee ballot return envelopes was shipped to a residential house in Maryland.
The house happens to be the listed HQ for a Soros-funded electioneering non-profit.
Maine's AG closed the investigation with no answers as to how it happened...
NEW: Maine closed the missing ballot envelope case without answers - records show.
A detective recovered 498 blank absentee envelopes sent to a Soros-funded NGO in Maryland.
UPS said it would need a subpoena; the AG's office determined there wasn't enough information to issue one.
The case is closed.
That's how seriously Maine takes election integrity...
