That information made Janner gasp quietly. Not only had this boy not answered his question, but he made a wild statement about eating poison? “I… are you… do you need a doctor or something?” was all Janner could ask.

A pang of sadness weighed on Janner's heart as his somber eyes scanned Ryo for a moment. He knew from experience what it was like to lose a parent and for a time he was surrounded by children who thought they would never see their parents again. "Do you have... somewhere to go?"
