The Binance hacker might have just pulled off one of the smartest moves I’ve seen in Crypto.
The funds he stole from Binance Tether froze $1.5B in USDT and Circle froze another $800M in USDC.
Everyone thought the money was trapped and cannot be utilised anymore.
But apparently, the hacker had very sophisticated plans.
He deposited the stolen USDT on Aave, a Defi Lending Protocol, used it as collateral to borrow Ethereum worth millions of Dollars, and walked away.
Ethereum chain assests cannot be frozen like USDT by Tether and USDC by Circle.
One of the biggest heist in the Crypto industry.
