"It doesnt help farmers deal with the disease"
@APHAgovuk data released 16 Sep 2026 shows various measures of bTB have dropped in England since badger culling rollout in 2016. Although correlation does not show cause, these trends support the view that badger culling has helped.
A cull does not just cost money.
It costs protected #wildlife its life.
It takes public resources away from other priorities.
It does not help farmers deal with the disease.
It distracts from the solution of cattle measures needed to tackle bovine TB

CROSSING TEMPERATURE THRESHOLDS
Preparation is everything. Is the UK adapting at pace to the prospect of the observed global temperature trajectory breaching 2°C in the next 9 to 15 years?
NO.

Plaid Cymru have just joined Reform and the Tories to reopen the door to killing Wales’s badgers.
Welsh Labour voted against.

LATEST STRATEGY TO CONTROL TB
A new science-led strategy constrained by what is acceptable to UK gov is not in farmers' best interests. However, a data-led strategy would be. This would not only allow farmers to farm but would also increase prospects for controlling the disease.
After decades of living with bovine TB, farmers have every right to be sceptical of new Government promises. 💉
Farmers Guardian editor @katiejonesFG shares her thoughts on the latest strategy and what it could mean for livestock farmers.
But with a cattle vaccine targeted for rollout by 2030 and a new roadmap aiming for eradication by 2038, could this finally be a turning point?

HOW TEMPERATURES SINCE 2018-12-31 HAVE BROUGHT FORWARD THE 2°C CROSSING
If York data was used in IPCC AR6 to give temperatures up to 2018-12-31, temperatures since then have brought forward the 2°C crossing by 10yrs when the last 300 monthly points are used in a quadratic fit.
HS2
"Nothing in current UK climate‑risk assessments suggests HS2 would become non‑viable as a high-speed transport system this century — only more expensive." Does this ignore prospect of crossing 2°C in mid 30's with accelerating AMOC degradation & seasonal weather extremes?
