ALT This week the websites Vaccine Hunter and Test Hunter are shutting down. These sites were created by Todd Brady, an Ankeny area software engineer. “As we’ve helped parents of the 6mo-4 year old age group it’s now time to shut down our sites. Vaccine demand is waning, and we are now able to do walk-in appointments throughout the state.” Brady said. Vaccine Hunter had huge demand through the year as Iowans looked for first doses, but also booster shots. Then as children became eligible the site was updated to handle those doses too. “These sites helped a lot of Iowans, we had over 425,000 unique visitors and over 21 million website loads as people searched for vaccines and tests.” Brady explained. If demand grows and we need more help finding appointments, Brady says the sites could be turned back on, “I hope it doesn’t come to that, but the sites could be turned on if we need to use them again.”
