I first met Cameron McIntyre several years ago at another European DBS meeting; ever since, I’ve been trying to develop a deeper understanding of his important modeling work… @brainmodlab just published our first pass at synthesis: bit.ly/DBSbiophysics @dbssocietyorg
Exciting new data from @MatteoVissani92 at the Human Single Neuron conference exploring the locking of STN spiking to cortical LFPs during speech: these neurons exhibit diverse interactions that can be differentiated based on cortical location, LFP frequency, and part of speech.

Kicking off the new year with @BSNNP1880 Thursday night, discussing the use of brain recording+stimulation to understand epilepsy, movement disorders, psychiatric diseases and cognition. Society membership is not required to attend! eventbrite.com/e/state-of-th…
Latest from our quest to understand how basal ganglia contribute to speech production: @CDastalfo shows F2 ratio (i.e. articulatory gain) correlates with activity in precentral gyrus and STN: bit.ly/STNspeechgain
