Replying to @onepeloton
@onepeloton I was in a scenic ride and needed to get off 2 let dogs in. When I got back you had kicked me out of my ride. Why??? I am so mad! So rude of you!

@onepeloton no answer?? Why kick anyone out of a scenic ride? There no obvious pause but we’re only competing with ourselves! I mean, why?????

Threads transition: literally frictionless. Twitter since Elon bought it? Full of change grief. I think I’ll stick to both for now, since I do have hope, but frictionless feels good.

So history is not properly repeating itself. After the 1918 flu, our grandparents got the roaring 20’s. We get MAGA? Future: send help!

Wow. Jon Stewart just went on Newsmax and completely slammed Republicans for slashing veterans benefits in their budget proposal, saying “Republicans don’t support the troops, they support the war machine.” We need more of this & people like Jon Stewart.

This is good. It’s not us in the US, but climate work is global in many ways. It is yet more news about how we can, in fact, succeed at using far less fossil fuel. lnkd.in/giXbJhUN

Having written two novellas now, I have learned the #1 pitfall of writing a novella, which is that people will complain it's a novella.

GREAT NEWS: New Mexico passed a bill that requires automatic voter registration, restores felons’ right to vote after their release, creates a permanent absentee voter list, and requires at least two secure drop boxes in each county. Who thinks EVERY state should do the same? ✋

This is very cool. Take a minute today and give it a read.
The message Jimmy Carter left in Voyager 1, the most distant human-made object from Earth, is breathtaking.

Just a thought: How about we nix Presidents Day and make Election Day a national holiday instead?

What you’re looking at here is a photo of two people who embody the best of leadership. Two people who actively defend democracy at home and abroad. Two presidents of our lifetimes. Thank you, Presidents Biden & Zelenskyy.

Elon Musk risked everything to quickly transition the world to EV’s and sustainable energy. The Biden administration is trying to slow down that transition by giving tax credits to legacy auto gas engine cars, but not to Tesla.
The car on the left has a gas engine and gets 20 MPG. It has 21 miles of electric range. It gets a $7,500 EV Tax Credit. The car on the right is ELECTRIC ONLY and gets 113 MPEe. It has 330 miles of range. IT DOES NOT GET A $7,500 EV TAX CREDIT.

The entire argument for censorship rests on the argument that people in power are better able than you to decide what you should read and might thus believe. On track record is there any evidence of the truth of this? Or that it is not merely a way to shut you up?

Celebrate with me. President Biden’s Omnibus bill will provide additional health care for 2.5 million Native Americans — residing on reservations across the country.

A handful of billionaires now have unprecedented control over banking, the food we eat, the health care we can access and, now, the information we receive. This is what oligarchy looks like.

Burning wood to make electricity is not renewable and it's not smart, and finally a large country says so. And it's Australia, which has not exactly been at the forefront of climate foresight. But good on ya, Canberra! news.mongabay.com/2022/12/au…

Undoubtedly not yet enough, but this represents progress that we need. I’m pleased to see a deal struck, to see countries cooperating, and to see positive press. I hope to dig into the details over the next week. #climate #thegoodfuture #biodiversity lnkd.in/gmRaZXzU
