NEW: Rep. Complete bs
BREAKING: The Nov. 15 closure at East Potomac Park is bigger than the golf course. Latest DOJ filing: "On November 15, 2026, the National Park Service will close East Potomac Park south of Buckeye Drive, including the Golf Course, consistent with the President's directive." That takes in nearly all of Hains Point — the running loop, the bike and pedestrian lane, the picnic areas. Not just the 36 golf holes. The stated reason for closing that much: a seawall "currently crumbling into the Potomac River." The government says that closure "must occur in all events" — regardless of the golf course redesign. The filing doesn't say how long the park stays closed. Also in it: the Park Service signed a new lease with National Links Trust today. NLT stops operating East Potomac on or before Nov. 15 — but keeps running Rock Creek and Langston. The filing then says the course must close "because there will be no company to operate that course."

A soccer-specific stadium is coming to Nebraska. The Omaha City Council approved the USL League One side Union Omaha’s new downtown stadium. 👏🏾 The stadium will cost approximately $140 million, and will have capacity for 8,500 people. It’s expected to open in 2028. “This is a big win for Omaha,” said Mayor John Ewing Jr. “We are taking largely unused land and turning it into a destination that will bring new jobs, housing, entertainment, and economic activity to our city. “By using proven economic development tools and partnering with private investors, we are making a major investment in Omaha’s future while creating a valuable public asset that the City will own. “This is smart economic development, and it’s another example of Omaha moving forward.” The City of Omaha will own the stadium, which will be financed primarily through private investment and revenues generated by the development.

130 years of being a public park “for the recreation and pleasure of the people” all for one egotistic and greedy person to steal it away for his rich buddies. If you are not paying attention, last night the NPS finally said the plan is final. A plan that calls for the expansion of golf to the entire peninsula. No more running. No more cycling. No more park. Just golf. Thousands of people. Access to the Cherry blossoms. A multipurpose space. 130 years of history. All washed away bc one dude who already has 16 golf courses demands he be gifted a 17th. This is a naked grab for public lands. How the f**k is this acceptable? @JaredHuffman @jamie_raskin @DonBeyerVA @glenniveymd @MarkWarner @AlsobrooksForMD @timkaine @ChrisVanHollen

A federal judge has blocked further tree removal at East Potomac with a preliminary injunction, and the opinion is a masterclass in calling out the government’s story. The opinion opens with “rarely, if ever, has the United States DoJ urged a federal court not to believe the sitting President.” The government has spent months saying no final plan, meanwhile they felled 500+ trees on a Saturday morning in October under the claim of “usual maintenance” Judge calls out the duplicity: “it makes zero sense for the agency to have cut down hundreds of healthy, mature, and non invasive trees” under the pretext of restoring the historic course while preparing for a massive overhaul on the presidents wishes. Wischer, that scheming and disgusting weasel, was found to be not credible - his characterization of the cutting as “‘cleaning up’ the course is borderline farcical.” Judge asserts that the Washington National Plan likely exists and likely final. The ending of the filing: “The Court earlier stated, ‘I am not the Lorax. I do not speak for the trees.’ The Court still does not speak for the trees. It speaks only for the rule of law. “

Eric Hoffer wrote this article about Israel almost 60 years go. It reads like it was written yesterday. "The Jews are a peculiar people: things permitted to other nations are forbidden to the Jews. Other nations drive out thousands, even millions of people and there is no refugee problem. Russia did it, Poland and Czechoslovakia did it, Turkey threw out a million Greeks, and Algeria a million Frenchmen. Indonesia threw out heaven knows how many Chinese-and no one says a word about refugees. But in the case of Israel the displaced Arabs have become eternal refugees. Everyone insists that Israel must take back every single Arab. Arnold Toynbee calls the displacement of the Arabs an atrocity greater than any committed by the Nazis. Other nations when victorious on the battlefield dictate peace terms. But when Israel is victorious it must sue for peace. Everyone expects the Jews to be the only real Christians in this world. Other nations when they are defeated survive and recover but should Israel be defeated it would be destroyed. Had Nasser triumphed last June he would have wiped Israel off the map, and no one would have lifted a finger to save the Jews. No commitment to the Jews by any government, including our own, is worth the paper it is written on. There is a cry of outrage all over the world when people die in Vietnam or when two Negroes are executed in Rhodesia. But when Hitler slaughtered Jews no one remonstrated with him. The Swedes, who are ready to break of diplomatic relations with America because of what we do in Vietnam, did not let out a peep when Hitler was slaughtering Jews. They sent Hitler choice iron ore, and ball bearings, and serviced his troop trains to Norway. The Jews are alone in the world. If Israel survives, it will be solely because of Jewish efforts. And Jewish resources. Yet at this moment Israel is our only reliable and unconditional ally. We can rely more on Israel than Israel can rely on us. And one has only to imagine what would have happened last summer had the Arabs and their Russian backers won the war to realize how vital the survival of Israel is to America and the West in general. I have a premonition that will not leave me; as it goes with Israel so will it go with all of us. Should Israel perish the holocaust will be upon us."

‼️🔎REVEALED: An internal document belonging to Hamas detailing plans to plant explosive devices in areas of displaced persons camps in Gaza. The document shows that Hamas' engineering department proposed planting explosive devices around displaced persons camps and detonating them as IDF troops approached, placing the civilian population in the camps at risk, in order to create panic as a smokescreen for the escape of its operatives. This was part of Hamas’ preparations to protect its leadership and operatives, while endangering and exploiting the civilian population in the area, fully aware that these actions were likely to cause direct harm to civilians.

Municipal golf can and should exist symbiotically with other forms of public recreation. That's how East Potomac is designed. The golf course preserves a large swath of green space in the middle, and non-golfers are invited to enjoy the recreational areas along the perimeter. The different sections of the park are mutually supportive. If the golf course subsumes everything around it, those interrelationships get broken. This is the kind of thing that gives golf a bad name and might make non-golfers everywhere wonder why public land and money should be devoted to the game.

The supposed plan for East Potomac Park is an absolute tragedy for so many that call our nation’s capital home. For 130 years, East Potomac has served every kind of American. Golfers, cyclists, runners, birdwatchers, walkers, picnickers, anyone who just wants to see the cherry blossoms. This plan is a betrayal of the public, of the National Park Service, and of the very act that established this land to be “forever held and used as a park for the recreation and pleasure of the people.” Ask yourself who a public muni golf course is actually meant to serve. East Potomac was built in direct response to the elitism of golf, a course anyone could walk onto and play, at a time when golf in America belonged almost entirely to the wealthy. Now the government wants to turn it back into exactly that. The very thing this course was built to stand against. This golf escapade is compounded by the fact that golf is about to become the only purpose of this entire peninsula. Over 130 years, East Potomac expanded, not narrowed, who and what it served. The road came. The playground came. The mini golf course came. The cherry blossoms were planted and became part of the city’s identity. All of it added, piece by piece, to widen who this park belonged to. Now it’s all being wiped out in one fell swoop, for a single use, by a single man. Donald Trump already owns 16 golf courses. He doesn’t need a 17th. Especially not one carved out of 130 years of public land to chase his own personal trophy. The heart of this issue really is not about golf. It is about who owns our public lands in America. The National Park Service’s mandate is "...to conserve the scenery and the natural and historic objects and the wildlife therein and to provide for the enjoyment of the same in such manner and by such means as will leave them unimpaired for the enjoyment of future generations." Not for the enjoyment of one man’s ego. For future generations. Public land doesn’t become private property just because the person in office wants it to be. That’s the whole point of calling it public.

This proposed plan is absolutely unacceptable. Here’s what the plan actually does: 36 holes of public golf cut to 18. No more mini golf. No more park. More running / cycling road. No more playground. No more introductory course. Nobody has said a word about the Cherry blossoms. Who is this actually for? Not the kid learning to golf. Not the family in a walk. Not the birders. This was never about the public. It’s for the elitists who want a private showcase, and one man’s ego.
You have got to be f**king kidding me… an 18 hole golf course that fully absorbs the entirety of Hains Point. Disgusting and shameful acts by Department of Interior. We have been saying this for MONTHS.

You saw the trees get cut down Saturday. Here's what you didn't see. A political appointee gave the order at a closed-door October 5 meeting. NPS Deputy Director of Operations Frank Lands testified he was told by Greg Wischer, Interior's deputy chief of staff, to clear the trees as soon as "practicable." Crews moved over the holiday weekend, less than 24 hours after Friday's formal notice. The judge isn't buying it. She said the real plan is being "developed outside of the agency, either through the White House or through private individuals coordinating with people at the White House." Here's who those "private individuals" are: • Tom Fazio is the designer Trump wants to redesign the course and build toward a Ryder Cup. Fazio Golf Design already has a signed agreement with the admin. • Vanasse Hangen Brustlin, a Massachusetts engineering firm, quietly got a $389,355 contract for compliance work. Rep. Jared Huffman says it was awarded "without any public announcement or notice to Congress." • A $49M construction contract is already posted as a govt forecast, bidding set to open 1/31/27. No company's been awarded it yet, but the price tag shows how big this project is. The course didn't just become available. For years, National Links Trust (NLT), a nonprofit, ran it and kept it affordable. The admin was already dumping WH East Wing demolition debris there before Interior even took the lease back. A week later, Interior claimed NLT had defaulted (NLT disputes that) and canceled the lease 12/30. NLT has hired Williams & Connolly to fight it. Friday at 4:55 p.m., NPS gave notice: 169 trees, Saturday — 16 times the judge's 10-tree limit. Lawyers later confirmed 430 were felled. That's what Trump wants to turn into a "world-class" championship venue. Burgum claims it'll stay "affordable, highly discounted." Nobody buys that. A lawsuit argues this violates the 1897 law that created the park "for the recreation and the pleasure of the people" — meaning this may not just be unpopular. It may be illegal. Reyes held a four-hour hearing, furious, and said the govt had lost all credibility. Reyes has barred further cutting and is forcing DOJ to give three days' notice before touching this course again. Good. Not enough, but something. #DemsUnited

The 4-hour hearing over the Trump Admin’s disgusting behavior at East Potomac Park this weekend just ended. One word to describe the hearing: incredulous. Reyes was livid over the Trump Admins deceitful behavior. And the idea that there is further deceit going on was palpable. Our read of the hearing was that it focused on two key elements. The first was the timeline of the Cultural Landscape Review (CLR) cuttings and the second was tying the CLR to the broader planned Washington National Plan (WNP). Timeline: the judge demanded to know who knew what and when. Could not believe that a project of this scale was completed over the course of ~5 days (October 5-October 10). And the scale is breathtaking - all the way up to the acting Director of the National Park Service, Jessica Bowron. CLR with the WNP: anyone with two brain cells to rub together knows that these two are connected. To pretend that a project that has sat on the shelf for 7 years just came into play is unbelievable. The key thing was tying the CLR to the WNP. And turns out that Frank Lands, the Deputy Director for Operations at the U.S. National Park Service, was given an express directive by Greg Wischer, the Deputy Chief of Staff at DOI, to use the CLR to begin tree removal at East Potomac “as soon as possible.” Wischer reports to Burgum at DOI. Just unbelievable, illegal, fraudulent behavior from all these despicable characters involved. I will say it again, when this admin wonders what their legacy will be and why everyone hates them, it will be because of underhand and nefarious dealing like this. A mob of thugs and goons who don’t think the rules apply to them.

Trump's D.C. Chainsaw Massacre: Over 500 Historic Trees Gutted to Build a Millionaire's Golf Course Donald Trump has begun actively destroying hundreds of trees in Washington, D.C., and the lack of mainstream coverage is absolutely criminal. Please scream this from the rooftops and spread the word immediately! These aren't dead, dying, or invasive trees — these are perfectly healthy, decades-old oak and maple trees that are being brutally clear-cut. This disturbing footage from Rick Maese at The Washington Post exposes the truth: the Trump administration is massacring upwards of 500 healthy, historic trees at the East Potomac Golf Course. But honestly, why are we surprised? This is just the latest chapter in Trump's complete and utter disregard for our nation's historic capital. It follows the exact same playbook as his shocking demolition of the White House East Wing, and the disastrous, botched "renovations" of the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool that left an iconic American landmark falling apart and peeling. To make matters even more sickening, they've even been dumping toxic debris from the demolished East Wing right onto this very public parkland! The National Park Service is trying to gaslight the public by claiming this ecological disaster is just routine maintenance, but we know the truth: they are gutting public land to build a glitzy, exclusive championship golf course. Residents across the city are rightfully furious and disgusted. Witnessing 500+ majestic trees being ripped out of the ground is an absolute horror show for the people living in this city. Do not let them slide on this. Share this everywhere, expose this environmental atrocity, and follow for updates.
