Great to join @EndPovertyEdin for their 4th annual event during #challengepovertyweek this afternoon considering the impact of poverty on wellbeing. Also nice to see some familiar faces from my days working in Edinburgh 3rd sector over 8 years ago #CPW26 @PovertyAlliance

Golden hour on East Lothian’s Coast 🌅
Port Seton offers open coastal views looking out toward the Firth of Forth, and has an accessible footpath as part of the John Muir Way.
It was built as a harbour in 1656 by the 11th Lord Seton, whose residence was further inland at Seton Palace, and grew into a fishing harbour. After the Jacobite Rising in 1715, the Seton’s lost their estate and management of the mining assets passed to the York Building Company.
In 1722 they built the Tranent Wagonway, Scotland’s first railway carrying coal from Tranent to Cockenzie. The Wagonway was later used to transport troops to the Battle of Prestonpans in the 2nd Jacobite Rising in 1745.

If you drop a cigarette in the forest, would anyone hear it burn down?
A lit cigarette could spark a wildfire destroying the habitat for countless animals and birds.
Help protect Scotland’s wildlife. Dispose cigarettes properly.
There’s no such thing as a harmless fire.
