On the @goassay mcp What the agent signs is an EIP-712 voucher. Eight fields: payer, provider, amount, resource, request, seq, issuedAt, expiresAt. The domain and escrow address come from the client's own built-in table. The server never gets to supply them.

On-chain, a redeemed voucher doesn't go straight to the provider. It goes into a hold. If the result fails verification, the full amount returns to the agent's balance. Only collectHeld pays the provider.

From the small end: our current facilitator has settled 1,381 payments for $12.67, under a cent each. At that size the percentage barely matters. Sellers notice the floor and whether a failed call gets made good. Our assurance pool is $9.95, so that part is still a test.

The x402 market is still fairly small @ $40M+ all time volume. Facilitators charge about 0.1–1.5%. Coinbase CDP charges $0.001 per transaction, thirdweb 0.3% and Stripe 1.5%. Assay is doing both insurance plus verification, so it can charge more.
