Watch Matildas Doco here…
The #Matildas long, heroic climb to being world-competitive gave rise to our #NeverSayDie moniker & the doco of the same name featuring longtime coach @TomSermanni & numerous #MatildasAlumni. You can see it here youtu.be/2TH9StQ_88E
If you have FOMO turn away now
Day 1 of our #Paris2024 #Matildas tour was fun. Guests arrived in #Marseille and enjoyed the intro cocktail dinner hosted by @Bubs_11 . Today is gameday!

Perfect let’s make a gofundme for my teammate who had to buy her own business class seat for her 5th Olympics. BFFR. 😭
More needs to be done to sanction this club.
There needs to be a clear message that you must not let this happen. Whatever the financial or other struggle it is not the female game that pays the price.

The fact we are still facing these challenges in 2024 is beyond disappointing. How many generations of younger girls will have to stop playing football because of this? So sad to see honestly 😢

Even I had tears. What our old school Tillies like @lydsaussie & @Bubs_11 and many others have achieved via passion, talent and love for the game is the reason women’s football is the biggest sport in Australia. Thank you Lyds you will be remembered.

These are the women who changed football. ⚽️👊 The Stan Original Documentary Trailblazers, in partnership with #MECCAMPOWER, and starring football legends #SamKerr and more, premieres June 4, only on Stan. #TrailblazersFilm #StanOriginals #MECCAmoment #BlazeATrail

As @melbournecity Ambassador, I thank this remarkable group of wonderful athletes who have represented our club so well on and off the pitch. We are so proud of our Women’s Team and the outstanding inspirational leadership of @bubs_11. Melissa, you truly are a legend of our game.

@Bubs_11's Aus national league career now >5 years longest than next longest.
Time between first & last Aus national league games (incl currently active players):
27y 86d Melissa Barbieri
22y 74d Scott McDonald
21y 277d Liam Reddy
21y 200d Danny Vukovic
20y 34d Kevin Muscat

@Bubs_11' record of time between first and last/most recent series appearance (27y 42d) by far longest in Aus national league.
Alex Wilkinson (20y 58d) is next longest, although Vukovic should beat that next week - Saturday 11/5 is exactly 21 years since his first finals game.

“I like that line of work helping people. It’s the stuff I like to do."
Helping people is part of the makeup of @BryleehH.
It’s why the @MelbourneCity attacker divides her time away from the football field as a support worker with @whatability – a disability support service that utilises professional and semi professional athletes as support workers.

Kinda crazy that as a society we’ve pretty much forgiven all the shit that Ben Cousins has done because he was really good at footy. No regular man would get away with it, and rightly so, but Cousins doesn’t really deserve to be celebrated, regardless of his drug problem.

Couldn’t be prouder of our city women this season 🏆 but a special shout out to @Bubs_11, stepped up whenever needed and was pretty much an assistant coach on the sideline too. MASSIVE presence! 44 years old and still killing it, an inspiration to all women out there 🥹❤️🤍💙
