Pluto was robbed of its planet status - and now we are supposed to accept just handing out moons to Saturn … it is a rigged solar system
Saturn now has 274 "moons"—but are they all really moons? 🌘 Maybe it’s time we rethink the definition, argues @LKrauss1.

It’s not luck that Australia has one of the strongest biosecurity systems globally.  Australian science is reducing the threat of pests and diseases that damage our economy and way of life. This election, we're explaining how politicians' campaign remarks highlight the importance of science and research—even when they may not realise it. #scienceonthecampaigntrail #ResearchAndDevelopment @AustralianLabor @LiberalAus @Greens

My comments on the high quality of CSIRO analysis last week got plenty of airtime. The CSIRO is consulting on its draft GenCost report and I encourage anyone with feedback to make a submission by Tuesday: csiro.au/en/research/technol…

If architects & developers want to create more welcoming neighbors, the lessons are clear. Either reduce the width if costs are tight & economies must be achieved, or if a large structure must rise, worship the street, engage it, offer many doors and moments of interaction.

If you paid any tax in 2022-23, you paid more than all of these multinational gas corporations did on $36 BILLION income, exporting Australian gas from QLD. Really makes you think. #auspol

6) Breast cancer is a numbers game. There is now exceptionally good evidence to guide patients on what therapies they should have based on their individual risk profile. One supermodel beating the odds should guide no one in their choices.

Our support for science, underpinned by rigorous processes, is unequivocal. Those who seek to mislead or distort scientific evidence undermine public trust in science. It is a dangerous trend and must be called out. This is a time when policymakers need to inform their decisions with rigorously gathered evidence, rather than in response to conspiracy and fearmongering. Efforts to undermine science, undermine us all.
Science provides the data and models that allow society to tackle profound challenges. To be useful, science requires community trust. Our Chief Executive has issued an open letter defending our scientists and organisation against unfounded criticism. csiro.au/en/news/All/News/20…
