I’m like genuinely pissed at the *** ruining the title of Black Widow. It was something she earned and reclaimed, it’s not a synonym for ‘soldier’. There’s so much significance in her defying the box they shoved her in and using it for Herself. Does this make any sense

Chloé Zhao "loved" directing Marvel's "Eternals" and defends comic book movies: "It’s important to not write off stories because we don’t consider them high art."
“For any of you who love anime, I know you know this was a girl’s dream come true. Comic books are the western equivalent of [manga]. They are very different, but I live in the west, and that’s what I had access to. I do feel it’s important to not write off stories because we don’t consider them high art. The purpose of storytelling for me, humbly, is to create containers for people … to try to process what they need to process. Archetypes are such a great way to do it — and we see them in myths — is because it’s something we all share.”

lukewarm take—& i am NOT knocking fanfic. Fanfic is very important to me. But it cannot be the only thing you read and you shouldn’t be proud of that either 😭 it’s a treat. It’s dessert. You can’t eat ice cream for every meal bro
there is absolutely fantastic fanfic out there that is on par with published books and deserves to be read and celebrated but that’s not true for all of it. You need something engaging, you need new ideas and you cannot live on a hamster wheel forever

i guess i dont really care if people refuse to read comics and only like adaptations but they talk about shit they havent read and reduce the actual original character to nothing but something they can take fun facts from for their adaptation blorbo and it gets rather obnoxious
admittedly a toxic comic book fan but I’m passionate about the work that goes into it and I think you’re a major loser for trying to act like it means nothing #lol
