“Self-driving is solved herp dee derp”
I'm guessing the passenger of this cyber cab would be shitting his pants to see the car inching forward as an oncoming train approachs, like it wants to play chicken with the train.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
This Cybercab is an engineering test vehicle and is NOT operating autonomously. The OP says this is in Seattle and Tesla does not operate autonomously there. robotaxireport.com/cities/seattle/ tesla.com/support/robota…

$MSFT offers 60,000 employees a voluntary exit. 60K Y’all!! First time this has ever been offered at Microsoft and it will affect employees in India, The United States, Canada, and the UK at level 70 or below… Employees find out in a few hours if they are being targeted for this. This just makes me think that H127 layoffs sound intense. Is this a pre-layoff round? Also makes me wonder if they changed some scheduled layoffs due to be called out by @VP. Peace offering? 🤔 Timing is just interesting. More to come.
$MSFT Microsoft's job cuts aren't done, and Xbox is where to watch next. Asha Sharma is reportedly planning three more rounds: this month, November and January. 1,868 jobs are gone against a 3,200 target, so roughly 1,300 more are coming. Spreading cuts across a whole year is a choice. It keeps the margin story moving and leaves everyone who's left waiting. I'm watching for the October round.

Some of these rules just make the game less fun.
“Illegal forward handing” I’ve watched football for 36 years and I’ve never seen this penalty called.

HBO's @LastWeekTonight has a long track record of citing social science findings without the appropriate context, massaging them to support whatever point @iamjohnoliver is trying to make.

I can't believe we're having quality problems with the technology created by a guy who despises programming and declared he's no good at it.

Filing away for the "Who would need more than a 10-round magazine?" crowd.
A South African father driving a "bakkie" (compact truck) with his children engaged multiple armed car jackers as he was leaving his gated property earlier this month. According to The Post media, off camera one of the car jackers was waiting at the gate and put a gun to head of the mans son as he opened the gate, then their vehicle pulls up where the external footage here begins. The father, a true Chad, pulls his concealed firearm and smokes all 3 would be car jackers whilst shielding his daughter with his body 💯🎯🤌🏽 According to local Pinetown media, a private security firm was the first to respond (well after the three criminals were dead) to the scene and eventually local police showed up to take a report. Plan and train for complex ambushes accordingly... #SouthAfrica #pinetown #diversity #FAFO #multiculturalism #ambush #parenting #dad #GirlDad #tribal #education #family #3rdWorld #africa #marksmanship #ToxicMasculinity

Talked with muggle yesterday about AI. He had some concerns. I reassured him that the worst-case future probably looks more like Chernobyl than Terminator. He didn't find that comforting.

I hate the way the word democracy is used today, often by both the left and the right. “The people voted for this. Who are you to oppose them?” I'm someone who believes in inalienable individual rights, which cannot legitimately be voted away, regardless of how many people support violating them. And what's wild is that both sides suddenly rediscover individual rights when opposing the other side's attempts at majority rule. I'd imagine both would agree that 51% of the population voting to enslave the other 49% wouldn't make slavery legitimate. Yet somehow that principle disappears when the majority votes to violate rights they personally don't care about. It's pragmatism over principle. Rights when convenient, democracy when expedient. At best, it's a system in which you sanction kneecapping others today, knowing they'll have every incentive to kneecap you tomorrow. A revolving door of mutually sanctioned violations.
