When the working class can’t get to the polls due to work schedules, it’s absolutely voter suppression.

Alright imma be one of those people: regardless of breed do not fucking bend down/encroach on a dog that has found something VERY valuable outside. ESPECIALLY AN ANIMAL CARCASS. I wouldn’t do that with my GOLDEN. Call them away, trade them, or block with your body.
A pregnant mother says a single bite from her beloved rescue dog changed her family’s life forever... just weeks before she was due to give birth. Sara Wood, 28, was 34 weeks pregnant when her three-year-old Staffordshire bull terrier, Blue, suddenly lunged at her face. She had been playing outside with him and crouched down to tell him not to eat something dangerous. In less than a second, everything changed. Sara said Blue bit her lip, severing a vein and causing blood to spray across her face and pregnant belly. “There was no barking, no growling, no jumping, no mauling or even head shaking,” she recalled. “It was just one clean bite and half of my lip was gone.” She described the moment as a reaction rather than a prolonged attack, saying Blue appeared frightened immediately afterward. “He tucked his ears and his tail and bowed down as if he was saying sorry that he didn’t mean to hurt me.” Even while injured, Sara’s first concern was keeping her toddler calm. She knew that, despite loving Blue, the safety of her children had to come first. Animal control officers arrived within 10 to 15 minutes and restrained the dog before emergency medical workers could take Sara to hospital. Doctors administered pain relief and antibiotics. Surgeons were unable to close the wound because there was no remaining piece of lip to reattach. Sara was advised to keep the injury clean, moisturised, and covered until she could see a plastic surgeon three days later. The family made the heartbreaking decision to surrender Blue to animal control. They have not been told what happened to him since, but desperately hope he was assessed and might be given another chance in a suitable home. For Sara, the physical injury was only part of the pain. She was preparing to welcome another baby while grieving the sudden loss of a beloved family dog. Blue had been part of her pregnancy and had been gentle with her older children, including her newborn daughter and toddler. Her toddler still walks around the house calling, “Hi Boo,” looking for him. Sara said the family plans to display Blue’s photographs, collar, bowls, and toys as reminders of the dog they loved. “We lost a member of our family over an unfortunate mistake,” she said. The family does not blame Blue or his breed. They simply made the decision they believed was safest for their children. Their story is a heartbreaking reminder that even familiar, beloved animals can react unpredictably—and that responsible decisions sometimes come with unimaginable grief. Love for a pet and concern for a child can exist together. Sometimes, the hardest decisions are made because we care deeply about both.

Dogs are animals. He had his prey. I’m still careful with my German shepherd we’ve had for 6+ years because I know he loves a good resource.

Alabama today you have a chance to elect a man who helped prosecute the KKK and put away the Birmingham Church city bombers or a guy who can’t even name the 3 branches of government and thinks “furry” pilots are a critical issue. Make the right call and send Tubs packing

I lived in AL for 2+ decades and I've travelled to several 3rd world countries. Deliberate benign neglect has been the status quo for major areas of the state for well over a century. It is absolutely fair to compare it to 3rd world countries. You simply live in a bubble
This post by @RonGoleman is an outstanding example of how poorly informed Alabama Democrats actually are, even about their own party and candidates. Calling Alabama "borderline third world" is a demonstrably false characterization of Alabama and shows a deep hatred for the state they seek to run. Alabama is the automobile manufacturing leader in the South, second nationwide only to Michigan. Additionally, Alabama has been a critical link to the United States' success in the space aeronautical industry for over half a century. Those are not the earmarks of a 'third world" anything. Republicans have not "run [Alabama] forever." Democrats controlled the majority of the Alabama Legislature for 136 years. Republicans gained the majority 16 years ago in 2010. Alabama has moved from 49th in education to 34th under GOP leadership. Doug Jones played no part in "bankrupting the KKK." The civil case that bankrupted the KKK was broght by Beulah Mae Donald whose son was lynched in Mobile. The attorney who led the case was Michael Figures of the SPLC. Jones was not involved in any way. The Ku Klux Klan was founded by Democrat political figures and was most closely associated with the Alabama Democrat Party throughout its existence. There is no evidence whatsoever that the "KKK endorses" Tuberville. Despite a super-majority of Alabama voters shifting their support to the Republican Party, areas of Alabama with the highest crime rates, highest poverty rates, lowest education rates and lowest economic rates remain almost exclusively under Democrats control. If Mr. Goleman is truly concerned with a "war zone" in our cities, there is a significant number of videos online this morning from Birmingham's Legion Field last night. To even suggest that Alabama voters should return control of the state to George Wallace' Democrat party is just silly.

while you are correct that a male doesn’t have a cervix, the statement is still accurate. boys should be given the HPV vaccine so that they don’t get the virus and then give it to girls who can get cervical cancer from it.
Words can't even express how I felt, when this "Nurse" in my church said boys should also take HPV vaccine to prevent "Cervical Cancer" Brooo I couldn't believe my ears, my mum corrected her, that men don't even have a "cervix"...... Tell me why this woman showed us......
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
HPV vaccination is recommended for boys and men to prevent them from getting and spreading HPV strains that cause cervical cancer in women (plus other cancers and genital warts in both sexes). CDC and ACS guidelines recommend it routinely for both boys and girls. cdc.gov/hpv/vaccines/r… cancer.org/cancer/risk-pr… cancer.gov/about-cancer/c… link.springer.com/article/10.118…

I need people who are exceptions to the rule to have enough self awareness to know they are the exception to the rule and stop inserting themselves into conversations in this way
Really sick of the posts criticizing kids for not saying trick or treat. As the parent of two autistic kids, walk off into the sea. You have no idea how hard it was to get out of the house and how impossible it was for them to talk in this situation.

Genuinely the expectation is for neurotypical kids. Not every child coming to these houses is autistic and that is not the explanation for 90% of the cases of kids just blank staring at the neighbors expecting candy. For the love of God your child is an exception and that’s ok!

Under pressure from Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the Trump administration may be within days of launching a nuclear strike on Iran. The target would be Pickax Mountain in central Iran, where Israeli intelligence claims the Iranian government has restarted its nuclear enrichment program. No conventional weapon in the American arsenal can penetrate 300 feet of solid granite to destroy the tunnels where enrichment is supposedly taking place. The only military option is a nuclear strike. Netanyahu has been pushing hard for one. “Bibi calls Trump about it every day,” says an informed observer. Netanyahu is cornered and desperate. After last week’s election results, he can’t form a government unless Trump intervenes directly in Israeli politics and brokers a deal with other parties that gives Netanyahu 61 seats in the Knesset. Otherwise, he is out as prime minister and on his way to ignominy, investigations and possibly jail. Netanyahu must stay close to Trump. He needs this war. To that end, he’s applied maximum pressure to his closest allies in the administration, including Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth and CENTCOM commander Brad Cooper. Both oppose a negotiated settlement to the war they’ve so grievously mismanaged; both are pushing to restart major combat operations. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and CIA director John Ratcliffe are also following Netanyahu’s lead, as are leaders of the Democratic Party. In a recent meeting on the subject, former president Barack Obama said he opposes the current Iran peace deal being drafted in Doha. The rest of America’s longtime allies in the Middle East are terrified by the prospect of more war. On September 27th, Netanyahu flew secretly to Abu Dhabi to enlist the UAE in his lobbying effort for a final attack on Iran. The Emiratis refused. After eight months of conflict, Gulf economies are teetering. So are global energy and fertilizer markets. They won’t recover soon. Globally, there are a total of about 850 supertankers used to transport oil from producers to the rest of the world. In October alone, 11 of them were badly damaged in Hormuz. At this pace, a global depression is imminent. A nuclear strike would radically accelerate the destruction. Fallout from a ground explosion at Pickax Mountain would contaminate the Persian Gulf, poisoning the water supply for 100 million people. And those are just some of the immediate consequences for the region. The rest of the world is every bit as exposed. No country other than the United States has ever used a nuclear weapon in war. Some would like to. An American nuclear attack on Iran would set a new precedent. The Russians have already told at least two other governments that an American nuclear strike on Iran would free them to use nuclear weapons against Ukraine. Pakistan and India would be tempted to do the same against each other, as would North Korea against Seoul. After the first nuclear strike, World War Three is inevitable. That war would be short and final. We’ve been sleepwalking toward this moment for months. Since February, the administration has quietly rewritten America’s nuclear doctrine to make first use of so-called “battlefield nukes” easier and therefore more likely. No one in Washington in either party seems bothered by this. Now we’re on the brink of it. Close observers say Trump is likely to decide by next weekend whether or not to use nuclear weapons. That would be November 7, six days from now. To his credit, he’s hesitating. At the moment, Trump is listening to his vice president, JD Vance, and to his envoy and friend Steve Witkoff, both of whom argue a deal with Iran can be made. They’re right, though it won’t be simple. The Iranians are famously frustrating to negotiate with under any circumstances, and elements of that government have become more radical since Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and his family were killed in February. After decades of isolation, even relatively moderate Iranian leaders seem confused by how decisions are made in the West. (There is a widespread belief in Tehran, for example, that the United States government controls Israel.) But overall, people who have spoken to decision-makers in Iran say there is consensus there that more war is bad for everyone and a deal is worth making. One group that hasn’t been consulted so far is the global population — the hundreds of millions of people who will be killed along with their children if Trump is pushed by Netanyahu into launching a nuclear strike next week. Now would be the time for them to speak up.
