Harvard has set an example for other higher-ed institutions – rejecting an unlawful and ham-handed attempt to stifle academic freedom, while taking concrete steps to make sure all students at Harvard can benefit from an environment of intellectual inquiry, rigorous debate and mutual respect. Last Saturday, at the park I once (miserably) ran around in 7th grade PE, I stood on a picnic table to stoke the patriotic spirit of 3,000 of my neighbors — and it was a thrill I’ll never forget. I had just flown home the night before from Istanbul, where a grassroots upwelling of concerned citizens is standing up to autocracy, making our local gathering feel even more poignant.

BREAKING: The group behind the MASSIVE “Hands off” protest is now calling for another protest on April 19.
In social media posts, the group stated that they want 3.5 percent of the U.S. population—more than 11 million people—to participate. They cite this figure as the threshold for "sustained resistance in order to make a difference."
