I've got engineering automated so well companies are now paying me to help them use AI in engineering and product design. I've fallen into consulting.
Want to talk? Reach out. I’ll give you a better deal for a complex product development challenge. I need harder problems!
Now I have to go buy a CNC machine for my basement 😠
camlib is now public. It's a toolpathing engine written in rust. I tried to make it as fast as possible.
I plan to make this the future CAM engine for Steve.
MIT licensed.
github.com/stevecad/camlib
I should look into @bantamtools so this guy finally gets something out of posing with me.
When did SteveCAD start doing FEA? Ran it against 2 other FEA tools?
You may not know but I was the product manager that created the simulation application in Solid Edge. It took a year for the first release.
The speed of development today is crazy!
Its the age of advanced AI engineering, it was the age of people getting certified in CAD drawing creation.
It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of recursive self-improvement, it was the age of data center bans, it was the epoch of intelligence explosions, it was the epoch of local backlash, it was the season of acceleration, it was the season of red tape, it was the spring of superintelligence, it was the winter of compute.

I keep saying "this is the most excited I've ever been about a demo" but I mean they're cool demos!
I've designed this NativeCAD Car entirely with generative AI and no human modeling command with Opus 5.5. Entirely within our own CAD kernel, meshers, and solvers.
Fully within all FIA specifications and regulations. Over four thousand G4 continuous surfaces.
The design includes manufacturing drawings, BOM, CFD, et cetera for the entire composite layout and construction.
The latest release of NativeCAD (featureboard.ai/nativecad/we…) contains g4 and other high performance automotive features in our latest version of the world's best generative CAD.
I'll have an incredible version of the car you can drive and inspect in a viewer yourself to share either tomorrow or the day after. Three tracks with AI opponents and realistic handling to test the car. Compare to Project CARS.
Then also look out as we're shipping NativeCAD 0.30 with every single tool and workflow from this demo integrated so you can craft your own automotive monster.
Any market for a racing game that's defined fully by whatever you can field within regulations? Confirm your CFD values with others and earn your designed car's place on the leaderboard.
Let me know what you think in the comments!
This is awesome. In particular, the motors and servos have got to be crazy small and powerful.
Robotic hands are moving beyond simple gripping!
This multi-fingered robotic hand demonstrates coordinated finger movements, including bending, extending and changing positions.
Such advances in robotic #dexterity could eventually help robots handle delicate objects, operate tools and perform tasks requiring human-like precision.
The demonstration shows impressive mechanical movement, although autonomous control and real-world handling capabilities are yet to be established.

Busy day. While I’m not focused on AM, AI is going to help the smart companies is this space.
Most of them don’t realize this.
Just about the time my wife and I got married, I made here watch the new TV show coming out called Star Trek The next generation.
Later, we would make nachos with cheese during the episodes and watch with our 3 kids.
Daughter met a guy working a Star Wars exhibit.

If you're a founder picking what to build next, here's the Winter 2027 wish list from @ycombinator.
11 Requests for Startups, all about bringing AI into the real economy:
1. Startups in a World of Abundant Space Access (@agupta): business models that work once launch costs fall 100x or more
2. The $15 an Hour Expert (@bradflora): AI that turns an ordinary worker into an expert
3. Robots Made in America (@sdianahu): robots and their supply chain, built in the US
4. LLMs That Write Well (@snowmaker): a model people love talking to
5. Plaid for Government Benefits (@gustaf): verify income and residency once, apply everywhere
6. Wall Street for the Physical Buildout (@bradflora): lenders, leasing, securitization and hedges for robots and GPU clusters
7. Vertical Foundation Models (@sdianahu): specialized models that match general ones on far less compute
8. AI for City Hall (@gustaf): permits, 311, licensing and inspections, handled with AI
9. Data Center Supply Chain (@snowmaker): the bottlenecks behind the buildout, from transformers to steel
10. AI for the Air Gapped Economy (@bradflora): frontier AI running fully offline, inside the customer's own building
11. Own Your Intelligence (@xuster): companies owning models that improve on their own data
Every great buildout created giant financial companies alongside it. YC is betting this one will too.
That was a joke. For my birthday, my kids sent me a recording from @BrentSpiner which was crazy funny! I still need to pull out him saying "Mark Burhop?" so I can play it when someone says my name.
This is in my backyard. I really need to go. Do they charge for speakers or is that my way in?
Do you plan on joining @3DPrint_com @AMResearch_ for our 10th Additive Manufacturing Strategies in February, but don't have your ticket yet?
