Netflix laid off creative staff because their movies and TV shows weren't getting good viewership numbers. WWE is the most consistent viewership draw Netflix has. Coachman is a clown for this take.
Jonathan Coachman and Vince Russo see serious financial questions hanging over the massive $5 BILLION WWE deal following layoffs and shifting expectations at Netflix.
Coachman notes the streamer cut over 1,000 jobs, while contrasting Raw drawing under 2.5 million viewers for $500 million a year against Stranger Things delivering 35 million viewers for a $480 million budget. Russo highlighted Wall Street pressure, weaker forecasts, and intense competition from YouTube and TikTok as major factors.
With an OPT-OUT CLAUSE arriving at the five-year mark, Russo believes shifting media realities will force Netflix to reconsider.
