I do think $TSLA needs to have at least 4-5 vehicle variants at all times:
- sports car
- low cost SUV
- truck
- large SUV
- sedan
As of right now, Tesla will only have three variants and two when they phase out the Cybertruck.
The Cybercab will be ubiquitous because of the robotaxi service but people want choices for every point in their life.
Some people are single and need a smaller car, others will need a larger vehicle if they have a large family.
I think rethinking the truck line would be a very smart idea as well.
Americans love trucks and when you add autonomy into the mix, it makes the vehicle that much more valuable. The cybertruck was a cool idea but was too polarizing of we are being honest.
Nostalgia
Built a little toy: Christmas 1992, the family den, the VHS shelf.
Slide a tape out, push it into the VCR, hit play. Weirdly satisfying VCR ASMR.

What tape did your family wear out?
I don’t understand how on one hand you argue about Musk making bad business decisions and on the other he is wrong when he makes a difficult decision to cancel an unprofitable product (that was apparently a pet project). Oh guess what? No electric truck is making money.
Why doesn’t Tesla make a full size SUV? I wish they would personally as I think they could do it right, but others doing it aren’t doing well either. Meanwhile Model Y is number 1 selling vehicle in the world (yes, I know, the variations of various other models with numerous names eclipses it by far but it is still true that it is #1) and wait time is 3-5 months for a new one.
It’s not to say they won’t do other vehicle types again in the future, but good business moves should be applauded.
You were unimpressed that they were doing the Roadster. They are stopping production of the CyberTruck. Which was a good decision? Can’t have it both ways.
Those deep into the Tesla community are pushing back against Musk. This kind of pushback simply didn't exist 24-36 months ago. You can almost feel the growing frustration and anger.
What Ramy is talking about informally in his tweet below deals with business bridges. Musk is burning Tesla's bridges. He is making it more difficult for consumers to follow him and Tesla to shared fleets of autonomous vehicles. It's the wrong strategy.
I have been talking about this issue for the past year. All of the details are found in the Inside Orchard essay available below.

Don’t you dare blame Trump alone for the 2026 midterm election losses. Blame John Thune and every RINO who turned their backs on Trump and helped the Democrats win.
We could have passed the SAVE Act, but these RINOs failed us. We still have serious questions about who voted in these elections, including whether people who weren’t legally allowed to vote
And I don’t care who gets mad. I’m standing with President Trump. I voted for him, and I’m sticking with him. If you don’t like it, I don’t care.
Democrats stood behind Obama and Biden no matter what. So why the hell should I turn my back on Trump.
I refuse to join the Democrats in their celebration. I will never support that party.

I can accept losing an election. What I cannot accept is the country entering an era in which trusted institutions can spread disgusting lies, watch millions believe them, and face no consequences because the lies helped their side win.
That is the most frightening result of this election. We are losing the shared reality a free country needs to survive. When people can no longer distinguish evidence from a story engineered to make them angry, every new lie becomes easier to sell... and every act of violence becomes easier to excuse.
The country just handed power back to the people who helped create these problems. They will take that as permission to go further. The conspiracy theories will grow more brazen. Antisemitism will be celebrated and spread like wildfire. Violence will be justified whenever it serves the right cause.
I do not believe the future is hopeless. But I refuse to pretend this is an ordinary election loss. We are heading into a darker, deadlier period, and the people who profited from poisoning the truth have just been rewarded for it.

I am not here to tell you that Republicans have done a wonderful job. I am here to tell you that the Democrat Party has been fully captured by communists who want you dead and seek to destroy western civilization itself. Go vote against them. It’s the only choice.

I do not hate Muslims. I view their ideology as evil.
I do not want them dead, I want them to become Christian, and not by force. That’s because I love them, not because I hate them.

After forty years in front of the camera, I’ll be directing my first feature film, SO HELP ME GOD: a Civil War epic about a Union soldier named Albert Townsend, who should have received the Medal of Honor but didn’t.
Clerical error.
I learned of Albert through his descendants’ archival research. What I found was more than an injustice waiting to be corrected. It was a story of friendship and extraordinary courage: an unassuming young man becoming a soldier who held his ground, and his principles, under fire.
That’s a story worth telling on the largest possible scale. And we’re inviting the people who want to see it told to help bring it to the screen, as investors in the film through Republic.
We intend to do it justice: real cannons, one hundred horses, and the cast in period-accurate uniforms. We’ve brought on Mark Huffam, whose work includes Saving Private Ryan, Game of Thrones, and The Martian, to produce it. He knows what it takes to make an epic, and how much depends on the human story at its heart.
At the Medal of Honor Heritage Center in Chattanooga, Tennessee, I introduced the project alongside Civil War historian Brad Quinlin, members of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War, and representatives of Civil War Roundtables. We’re also supporting the campaign for Albert’s posthumous Medal of Honor. His descendants are still fighting to see his courage properly recognized.
This picture is about friendship, love, and honor — and common people rising to accomplish extraordinary things. I want to give that story everything it deserves.
I hope you will lift the banner with us.

Your house went up in value. Congratulations.
But why should the government get a raise because of it?
You didn’t sell your house. You didn’t make a dime. You just opened your mailbox and discovered the government wants more of your money.
That’s why I’ve fought to limit property tax increases and give homeowners relief.
Your home is not the government’s ATM.
