It is funny that it took gpt6 for people to realize why LLM benchmarks are terrible

Two JKUAT Architecture graduates, Wambugu Maranga and Henry Ronoh, have made history as the 2026 Regional Winners for Africa in the global Light of Tomorrow competition by VELUX, becoming the first Kenyan project ever to win the award. Their winning project, “Woven Time,” draws inspiration from the northern Kenyan desert communities, where light has long been used not only to see, but to mark seasons, read the landscape, and navigate the land. The duo transformed this traditional knowledge into architecture, treating light as a building material rather than simply a utility. Selected from 539 submissions representing more than 345 schools across 80+ countries, Woven Time stood out for its thoughtful fusion of cultural knowledge, light, and architectural design. The project was developed under the mentorship of Ms. Jerusha Ngungui (2nd photo) of JKUAT’s Department of Architecture and presented on the global stage at the UIA World Congress of Architects in Barcelona, Spain. ^DP

Got hacked yesterday. The link came from inside Claude chat. I was installing a transcription app. Claude sent the download link, and I pasted the command into the terminal. It all looked legit. It wasn't though. It was a copycat site bundling malware. It ran instantly, tried to take everything from me. Nothing sensitive got out. So I wiped the laptop and rebuilt clean. But here's the scary part. Restoring from the backup, I found a poisoned SKILL.md for Claude Code. It looked exactly like my own writing style guide. But buried inside: it had instructions to silently re-download the malware and steal my credentials every time the AI loaded it. If I'd restored that one file, my new clean laptop is owned on day one. What saved me: I read every skill, hook, and config file before letting the AI touch them. Two lessons here: AI assistants will hand you links they never verified. Check before you paste. And AI agent files are executable code now, disguised as notes. You have to read them. Stay safe out there.

There will be 3 types of people in the future: The Purists - reject AI and become new-age hippies The Automatons - outsource every decision and become machines The New Renaissance Man - maintains humanity and leverages tech to do what used to be impossible

The Sun is by far the biggest source of energy in our solar system Even here on Earth, the Sun accounts for roughly 100% of all the energy we use - fossil fuels are just ancient sunlight stored in plants, while wind, hydro, biomass, and solar power are all driven by the Sun right now Beyond Earth, the vast majority of spacecraft, satellites, and future Mars bases run entirely on solar energy The Sun puts out 3.8 × 10²⁶ watts - more energy in a single second than all of humanity has ever used in its entire history And just to put it in perspective: the Sun makes up 99.8% of the total mass of our entire solar system. Jupiter is only 0.1%. Everything else (Earth, Mars, asteroids, etc.) is basically miscellaneous We’re finally learning how to use the only energy source that actually matters ☀️
