Just saw Teddy Perkins, and, um...
My #TeddyPerkins theory:
- Benny Hope went nuts, bleached skin, changed name to Teddy Perkins
- "Teddy" has been keeping his abusive father (now in wheelchair) captive, torturing him, all while calling *HIM* Benny (role reversal)
Hell yeah.
#Browns fans tired of this dude talking with nothing to show for it.
Shannon Sharpe GOES OFF on Jared Verse for calling out his teammates for not stepping in after getting body-slammed by Mason McCormick:
"I know this ain't the same guy that didn't go to Deshaun Watson's house” — 🤯😳
"You out here running your mouth, talking all this fake tough stuff before the game, and then when Mason McCormick body-slams you on your head, nobody moves. Not one of your teammates stepped up. Not one person came over to back you up."
"If you're really that guy, if you really got that kind of respect in the locker room, your brothers don't let another man throw you on your head like a ragdoll and just walk away."
"You talked all that trash leading up to the game—'I hate black and yellow, we gonna make Pittsburgh ours'—and then you show up with one assisted tackle and get SLAMMED on national television." 🤯
"When it's time to stand up for your quarterback or show real brotherhood, where's that energy? You got all this noise for the media and opponents, but when the real physicality hits or real solidarity is required, it disappears."
"In the NFL, if you're gonna talk like a big dog, you'd better play like a big dog. You can't run your mouth all week and then get handled like that without your own team having your back."
Does Jared have the respect of his Cleveland Browns teammate after they didn’t step in during the Pittsburgh Steelers game?

Yo, THANK YOU to @housh84 for saying this.
#Browns fans hearing Jared Verse talking crazy has us feeling some kind of way right now.
He's been all talk since arriving, not a whiff of production to back it up.
We ARE trying to improve the culture.
So DO something!

.@Housh84 responds to Jared Verse being upset that his teammates didn't defend him after the dirty play by Steelers guard Mason McCormick
"How am I gonna defend somebody that ain't ready to defend themselves?"

T. J. Houshmandzadeh questioned why Jared Verse expected his teammates to defend him after the Steelers incident, arguing that Verse needed to get up and stand up for himself before expecting others to step in.
“If you’re a player and you’re on the ground, how do your teammates know you got on the ground? Nobody is even looking. This is how you get your teammates to get on your defense: You get up, and you defend yourself. They want you to start to defend yourself, and your teammates are like, ‘Wait. What’s going on?’ Then, they can come in. Nobody saw what happened. You didn’t even get up and do anything. How am I gonna defend somebody that ain’t ready to defend themselves? You not mad, but you expect me to be mad? You weren’t ready to risk it, but you want me to risk it?"

I had a friend growing up… he always wanted to start fights with folks… it was cool for a while, until I realized, he just talked too much. We stopped being friends when he got beat up for talking and I didn’t help. But he learned a lesson… stop talkin. #LessonLearned
#Browns DE Jared Verse says he was upset his teammates didn’t stand up for him after #Steelers G Mason McCormick threw him to the turf—and he had that conversation with them.
“That honestly could have put me in a position to not be able to finish the season, put me in a position to change my life in a very bad aspect.”

Should be noted, the Browns defense literally leads the league in 3rd and 6+ snaps this year….

This season, the average conversion distance for Browns opponents has been 8.7 yards, the fourth-longest mark in the NFL.

Already better production than Jared Verse for #Browns in 8 games
In his first 10 snaps as a Bear, Jeffery Simmons had 3 tackles, a sack and a QB pressure, per @NextGenStats

“Deshaun Watson isn’t to blame, its solely on the #Browns OL”
PFF QB rankings from a clean pocket (out of 28 qualifying QBs)

-21st in ADOT (6.4)
-Tied 21st in TO Worthy Play% (2.7)

Its not the OL’s fault he’s gone 3 weeks without throwing a TD
The Browns have committed 85 total penalties through 8 games (72 accepted, 11 declined and 2 offsetting).
35 of those penalties are pre-snap penalties.
Cleveland leads the league in total penalties, accepted penalties, declined penalties and pre-snap penalties.

here's Deshaun again taking a 7-8 step drop out of shotgun. watch Tyus Howard (no. 71) seem to turn to the sideline with his hands in the air in frustration when he sees where Deshaun is
#Browns got these bum-ass Steelers looking like world beaters.
Trash performance.
Also, it's time to bench Deshaun Watson for good.
He's been HORRIBLE all year and it was covered up by young talent and the defense.
Damn, we need a real QB.

Do the Browns have refs at practice? There’s no way this is just a gameday issue. These penalties are habits that are clearly unchecked during the week.
So after one quarter, the #Browns:
* Have -1 yards of offense
* Fumbled at midfield twice
* Gave up 51 yard run on 3rd & 13
* Have multiple penalties
And are about to be down 14-0.
It's days like this that keep us from trusting any progress. Awful.

For all the positives with Todd Monken, he HAS to do something about these slow starts.
Would love to stop with all the short East-West passes, for one.
It doesn't help that Deshaun has NO IDEA what he's seeing out there.
