Delighted this (w/ @c_mackevicius) is forthcoming at AEJ: Applied! It has evolved over time and we hope it helps inform and frame policy debates around the benefits of increased school spending. I learned a ton about meta-analysis during this project.

Meta-analysis on the distribution of school spending effects with @c_mackevicius is conditionally accepted at AEJ: Applied.
We move away from the "does money matter?" question and provide evidence on how much and for whom.

Replying to @e_mackevicius
Due to critical periods, sometimes birds learn when tutoring is delayed, and sometimes they don’t. The birds that failed to learn were the birds where pre-tutoring neural sequences were most ‘crystallized’, that is, already tightly associated with their (untutored) song. (3/n)

this revised work i'm proud to share here
while there is no approach

quite robust our results do appear
Revised meta-analysis of school spending effects with
@c_mackevicius. Consistent pos relationship between spending and better outcomes in credibly causal studies. Robust to many modeling decisions, "fixes" for publication bias, and even confounding.
