It’s early and there’s still runway for the Spurs to work out the kinks, however, I think there’s just a lot more Tarris can offer to the second unit from a skillet perspective. The guy is 23 too, had played in huge games on the college level. He’s a smart player that doesn’t make many basketball mistakes. The offense right now in LKs minutes has been dreadful. Overall I just think Tarris can offer A LOT more. His smart versatility in the short roll anywhere inside the foul line, from floaters, to weakside corner passes, to dump off passes, to electing to turn a roll into a post up opportunity when the roll isn’t there at first glance, having solid footwork in conjunction with a wide frame to find and create advantages in small tight spaces around the rim for easy finishes. He’s also an elite screener to create wider driving avenues for his teammates. Then factor in his second chance equity on the glass being able to manufacture some of the best shots after corralling contested rebounds and having the acumen to find the open 3s against an unset defense if the wide open put back isn’t there. He just offers so many positive layers offensively that the 2nd unit could really use if the Vic off impact sustains.
